Digory and Polly might have been able to give them some advice - the Narnia pool must be very close to the Earth pool, as it seems they just picked the nearest one. But Eustace and Jill might still have had to test out two or three pools, and there's no saying how long they might need to be in a given world before they would be able to say whether this was Narnia or not. The puddle back to Earth wouldn't have been the problem - they would be coming up through it, and would be able to mark it themselves.

That would be cheating, wouldn't it?
