Two Towers Toronto Exhibit

I was able to see the exhibit in Toronto this morning. It consisted of mock up areas from the film and many props and costumes.
We started off in Fanghorn forest, and made our way into the Throne room of Edoras. We wound past the palantir area and Saruman's chamber at Orthanc. There were the Glittering caves and Osgilath ruins as well as Arwen's chamber. But the best was the Henneth Annun cave. As you looked in from the back of the cave, they had the waterfall passing over the sunset window, lit up as if the sun was setting in the west.
All through these areas were manequins with all the principle costumes from the movie. The armor was incredible to see, particularly that of Rohan, which had detailed horse motifs on most items. All the main swords were represented, including the broken Narsil. Aragorn's and Legolas' bows and quivers were there, as was Sam's back pack with his pots and salt box.
This show has been extended until Dec. 8. If you are within reasonable driving distance of Toronto, I highly recommend it.

I just saw your other question now. For some reason Toronto is the only place in the world that they choose to do this. They did one for the first film, and I assume there will be one next year as well. I wish they would have it during the summer months - stood outside in line for 45 min. at -10 celcius

Was it at Casa Loma again? I'm in Kingston now-it's all about exams, but the 1st exhibit was said to be cool.

Well I wonder what the deal is with Toronto? What's the connection? If it was summertime, I would consider trveling, No way in winter! It seems like it's only there for a short time. What's going on with this!?

Markedel, it's at the planetarium next to the Royal Ontario Museum. You could probably get tickets at the door. Since we were driving from Orillia, we bought them from TicketKing. The ROM website has the info.
Lizra, I'm not sure why only Toronto. There was a blurb about it on the onering.net. Something about a high concentration of Tolkien fans, strong literary base? Maybe us Canadians are just suckers for the Hollywood mystique, god only knows we would never complain even if we were disappointed

Yeah i saw the exhibit too. I didn't want to go (my friend dragged me to it) but i'm glad i went. THe attention to detail on the props is really quite amazing. Like on an axe from Rohan, there was this tiny little horse head, that no one watching the movie will ever see, but they put it in anyways. I was pretty impressed. The reason its in TO and nowhere else is because we asked for it. then it goes back to NZ.
