A movie of Screwtape?

Actually, it can be done well...as long as they don't try to prolong the film to over an hour and ten minutes

The rest would just be Screwtape talking.

sun-star, you really must brush up on The Screwtape Letters. It is rife with cinematic possibilities! Why CGI options alone would drive Spielburg mad.

Today, 29 November, 2009, is CS Lewis' 111th birthday! Happy Birthday, Jack!

And, appropriately enough, though not plannedly so, I have received a copy of Focus on the Family Radio Theatre's dramatization of THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS.

It is marvelously done! Andy Serkis ("Gollum") is Screwtape and does a remarkable job of creating that character. The production values are superb.

This production certainly sets the mind's eye to seeing the movie, sun-star!

Andy Serkis is doing a brilliant job. I guess that he acts just as much when there is only sound recording as in these bits where there's a camera as well - just because I think he would need to act fully in order to read his lines with the emotion they need.

I think I might have enjoyed watching him read the entire text ... I suppose I should get a copy of the dramatization in order to at least hear him.

And introducing other characters to make it more of a conversation - at least in parts - seems like a good idea. That "news lady" certainly works very well.
