Force Theories
Luke said the Force ran strong in his family. If this is true, then why di he not sense Darth Vader was his father? and why didn't he sense Leia was his sister? or Darth Vader sense Luke and Leia were his children?
 I know you guys/girls will know.

he didn't sense his father because vader being a sith could become invisible in the force
I don't know why he took so long to figure out who leia was maybe wishful thinking if you know what i mean he he he !

Luke was unable to use the force to discover his father's identity or Leia's because he had not been trained. If you remember correctly Luke did sense it about Leia after being instricted by Obi-Wan and Yoda. Furthermore although Vader told Luke he was his father it was Luke's searching of his feelings(or using the force) to truely know it was truth.
So anyways, the reason Luke could not sense those things was because although he was "strong" in the force, he was not Anakin, and he was not trained yet.
