First movie I ever saw at a theater (Drive-in too!) was STARWARS in 76 or 77

Maybe I'm an old fuddy-duddy, but I actually want to enjoy the movie more than expend all my energy waiting in line.
Expend energy? Our queue, at least, consisted mostly of hanging around (and living) with good friends, watching movies, listening to music, occasionally drinking and generally just having fun. It could be very energy-draining, true, but I had too much fun to notice before it was over.

I know many of the people I'm going to watch it with, and they've been waiting far too long for this movie to ruin it.

I was there one weekend, just to be with the people!
Pity I live so far away, it was alot of fun being in the queue. But I got tickets for the premier, so I'm happy. Looking really forward to it. I have exam the friday after, so it's a nice thing having something else to think about.

I saw the original movie in '77, when I was 6 years old. I've been a fan ever since, and have enjoyed all of the movies, weaknesses and all.

I think the best plan is to leave this thread spoiler-free, and to create a new spoiler-friendly thread for reviews, to be started by whoever sees it first. Then other discussion threads can be started based on topic, and designated as spoiler threads.

Look at me, I'm slipping back into admin mode! Noooooo! [runs away]

Really?! Still got to get around to buying the tickets, but they're still available, and you can just walk up to the counter and buy them without queuing for more than 10 mins.

A friend of mine was able to watch one of those press screenings last week and although there were those nit pick moments here and there (acting, at least. heheheh), he thought it was the 2nd best of the entire hexilogy (new word! ); 2nd only to the legend that is Empire Strikes Back. I can't wait til may 18th. Fox allowed the local cinemas to show it at 10pm on the 18th instead of midnight so the kids can go home earlier...

Not in Norway's largest cinema.

Hey, you guys, the Sith just started last night at midnight - I haven't seen it yet; will drag boyfriend to cinema ASAP, but has anyone out there seen it yet and if so, is it good?

Many new fans, including myself were created with the re-release of the original trilogy in 1997.

That applies to me too. My mum and dad took me to the movies in 1997. I loved them, and have been a fan since. Not a very huge fan, ep I and II I just saw in cinemas, not premiere or something. But with the last one, I think I must call me addicted Star Wars fan.

You must be near, I don't remember the first time I watched starwars so I figure it must be in the part I don't remember.
