Sam Gamgee Instruments

I have a question. In the Hobbit, they play instruments at Bag End. It doesn't say how they got there or anything else. Did the dwarves leave them there? It doesn't say what happened to them.

That's a good question. I think they might have taken them with them to a point, then lost them (possibly in the Misty Mts.).

They may have left the instruments at Rivendell with Elrond for safekeeping.

Mebbe, but they'd probably have wanted them to sing and dance etc. when they got Lonely Mountain back. I reckon they were amongst the luggage on the ponies that the goblins stole.

I doubt they would be levt at Rivendel. The dwarves are distrustful of elves, and I doubt they would have trusted leaving things behind. Lost to the goblins is the most likely because that is where they lost the rest of their stuff.
