The Official Entmoot Presidential Debate

All right, Entmoot. Are you ready? I hope so, because this is where it gets nasty. Who will come out on top? Who will be the next president of Entmoot? Can they survive the terror of the jungles of Fangor-... errrrr... *checks his script* Sorry, wrong TV show.

As some (okay all) of you might know, there has been a large debate going on lately with a great deal at stake. Who will be the next President of Entmoot now that Hobbit has graciously (read: was forced) to step down from his post?

Who will be the next President?

Only you can decide. Yes that's right. You.

But how can you choose? Oh yes you've seen them as spamers, thoughtful posters, motherly (or fatherly) benefactors... But have you seen them put in the spot light and under pressure? How would they handle being President? And, for the first time in Entmootian history, will that President be female?

Please note that this debate is entirely for the Presidential Hopefuls, and that the questions within are entirely for them to answer. Also, for those of you who are running, remember that you have to play to win (Drink Sprite, win prizes, play again.)

However, there is a poll within this post that is for the normal mooters to use. Please feel free to vote with it.

Good Evening every one!

I have decided to start this debate with a few questions for the Candidates that are fairly simple to answer, and are really of the most basic necessity to be qualified for this job. In other words if you screw this up you're certainly not getting a vote from me.


How do you feel that Tolkien's ‘Lord of the Rings’ has effected your life?

If you could meet Mr. Tolkien in real life, what would you say and do?

How many of Tolkien’s books have you read? Please give the titles.


If some one were crossing the street with a book titled 'Bored of the Rings', what would be your reaction? Would you:
A: Smile and wave.
B: Smile, wave, and seethe inwardly.
C: Frown
D: Frown and seethe inwardly
E: Run across the street, and beat the hell out of them.
F: Run across the street and beat the hell out of them with their book.
G: Run across the street and beat the hell out of them with your Limited Edition version of Tolkien's 'The Silmarilion' for only $4.99 that you got at Walden Books and have read at least a few hundred times and always carry with you because you try to live your life based on the rules within it.
H: Other. If so, please explain what 'other' is.


Lets say you've just gotten home from work, and it's been a hard day. Your boss threw up all over your report, your dog was lying dead across the little 'welcome' rug when you got home, and your radio is broken and is playing rap music non-stop. The only release from your torture is the little 'Sting' replica hanging on your wall. What would you do?

And now, for our toughest question yet...

How do you feel about the new editions of Lord of the Rings coming out with sad little pictures from the movies plastered all over the cover?

Yeah - being afraid to take the first step. You want to see what Jonathan says first so he gives you some ideas. It's obvious you have no ideas yourself and need to steal them from him.

I see you are resorting to slander already in your campaign. His ideas aren't my ideas. But I know you want to use that as a way to win. When a person sees no way of winning against the candidate - they have to resort to criticizing their supporters.

I guess we'll have to see if the electorate will like the mudslinging you have resorted to already.

Well, first, I haven't begun to campaign. And second, it might be considered mudslinging if I were speaking to another candidate, but I'm not. Just because you are his supporter, has nothing to do with it. It's just that it's...well...it's...you! You are always fun to criticize

So you think people will like a president who finds it "fun" to just criticize certain people? Jonathan is for bringing people together on the mood, you seem to be for seperating them.
