Re: favourite fighter

I like the X-wing. The others just aren't as exciting, and you just don't have the same emotional attachment to say, an E-wing that you do to an X-wing. Or maybe I'm just weird

Your personal picture doesn't seem to work btw.

Re: favourite fighter

My favorite is the Xwing because of many reasons. I always liked its look and that an R2 unit comes with it.

Overall I like the starfighters from the original trilogy better. I guess it´s because they´ve been around longer.

Re: favourite fighter

hmmm...bwings are cool. Theyre very manuverable and fast and stuff. Too bad they played such a small role in OT, unlike the xwing.

Re: favourite fighter

My favorite fighter is the B-wing too, but just to let you know its pretty slow. It is the most heavily armed alliance fighter there is though. The A-wing is also very cool 'cause it is the fastest alliance fighter, even faster than the X-wing. It was an A-wing that sent Darth Vader's Super Star Destroyer crashing into the death star...

Re: good to see you here again :)

Never did like those Naboo fighters... look to .... COMPUTER GENERATED. Not natural looking at all.

Definently got to go with X-Wing and B-Wing.

Someone mentioned the E-Wing... I thought that was only in the Star Wars books... I've never even seen a picture of one... does a pic exist?

Explain please...

am i right with these?

X-wings - they're obvious
Y-wings - are those the Imperial shuttles with the 3 fins that fold upwards?
A-wings - the craft with 2 cylidrical wireframe pods on either side of the cawkpit, the ships used by the first squad who attacked the Death Star in ANH
TIE fighters - what Vader was flying in when he escaped from the Death Star battle in ANH

do we ever get to SEE E-wings & B-wings? are B-wings the vertical ships with the wings that fold up & make the craft look almost sword-shaped?

it's been over a year since last i saw SW, so i'm kind of clueless.

Re: Explain please...

No, the assault on the Death Star in ANH consisted of X-wings and Y-wings. The Y-wings are the ones that look like the letter Y . The A-wings sort of look like the letter A but without the hole in the middle. Yeah B-wings were shown briefly in ROTJ, I don't remember exactly what they looked like.

Re: Explain please...

Correct, for the most part.
X-wing, center pilot capsule, four, wings that deploy in a X-shape
Y-wings, aka wishbones triangular head two large engines out the back.
A-wing-aka-slims fastest starfighter in the New republic arsenal
B-wing-(incase you didn't know, stands for Blade-wing) most heavily armed starfighter, looks like a flying dagger.
E-wing- heavy assault fighter, main body similar to the X-wing though it has only two wings, permenently folded down, three heavy lasers replace the X-wings four medium. One on each wing one directly above the @#%$pit.
T-wing, poor man's A-wing weak in everything exept speed.
K-wing, short range bomber, looks like a K that is turned turned to the right, when flying toward you.
W-wing, cloaked mon-cal design. Handles like a oversised hutt though.

You can't say c.o.c.k. here on EZboards, even if it's part of a word. The EZboard "bleeper" bleeps them out. Look at these examples:

The @#%$er Spaniel rolled onto his side.

The pilot got into the @#%$pit.

The @#%$ cried '@#%$-a-doodle-doo'.

The puppy @#%$ed his head to one side.

The bunny looked @#%$-eyed at the owner.

The woman screamed as she saw the giant @#%$roach.

"A Tropical-@#%$tail please", the man said to the waitress.

"You're too @#%$y," one of the men said to the other, "you'll never make it through the first race!"

Anyway...

How did you find out about all of those [ ]-Wings?

Re: heh...

I have a interesting mind that holds all I deem important at the ready. Anyway, I just found out about them off the internet, books(SW vehicals), and movies, but don't trust the SW mags, they almost never tell a true story.
(On of them says that Han's ship is The Milenium Falcon, true, but the class in YT-1300, this comic said that the class was Falcon!)

Re: heh...

The A-Wing and the B-Wing are much cooler, but my favorite Rebel ship has always been the X-Wing.

Re: heh...

X-wing has got to be my favorite as well.

It just looks functional! They were also dirty and battlescarred and I thought that was great. It's the most realistic of them all, I thought and still think years later.

Why, I remember standing in line to see the very first one!

I wasn't standing in line, but I grew up with space between my ears.

I couldn't help noticing that this has a double meaning.
