Gandalf/Ian McKellan, Smeagol/Andy Serkis, Strider-Aragorn/Viggo Mortensen. Oh, and Galadriel/Cate Blanchett, she looked a lot like what I thought Galadriel was like. And Shadowfax - the horse was spot on.

Well, it was a bit gross, personally I liked the spider in the HP movie better.

galadriel looked good (no pun intended), and shelob was good, and the trolls were all cool, but the black riders looked exactly the way i picture them.

well i think shadowfax was dead on what i imagined and galadriel too but NOT shelob...im terrified of spiders...i loved the black riders...i imagined them to be what they looked like in the movie except a few of the horses they were riding were brown but hey you cant be perfect all the time right?

the balrog in my opinion wasn't dead on in the book but he was well done

Faramir's failing to be his chivalrous self is another point of contentiousness.

In the book he says that he wouldn't pick it up, that is the Ring, if it lay by the roadside. But in the movie he falls way short of the book-self.

yeah the way they messed up faramir kind of bugged especially since he was one of my favs from the books. but i got over that a long time ago
