Eärniel, do you mind adding location of each Elf as well? Like you put Rohirrim with Human for Aelfwine. F.ex. Quickleaf, Lorien/Elf, and Nami Northern Greenwood??/Elf, and Tabril Southern Greenwood??/Elf, etc.

In that case, Barufiniel is a Rivendell Elf.
But those additions are races/peoples rather than locations, as far as I know.

I'm not sure if Sane checks regularly, so I made use of her character.
I hope that's okay. If not, I'll edit it.

I believe she did say to move her character around when necessary, so I'm sure it'll be alright.

I thought I remembered the horse was named Bahar.

I know I have to ask this every few weeks, but where are we now and is everyone who was active before still accounted for? I have a lot more things to think about lately than I thought I would. Tomorrow's a doctor's appointment to discuss what's causing some nocturnal (sleeping) problems.

I also wish I had a prayer of coming up with an actual original post. Lately all I've been able to come up with is one-liners and discussion about where we might be but might not be. I haven't gotten to interact with anyone, and I'm nervous about contacting somebody by pm to negotiate a connecting storyline, ya know since I'm still kinda new here and all. This Elf be having social anxiety issues...

You can contact me at any time you like, either for LLL, a nice little chitchat, or whatever. I'd like that.
You're not a newbie anymore though, you've been here for over a year now

When Barufiniel turns up, they should discover that they are distant kin. She is descended from Indis, who (in some texts) is Ingwe's sister.

You'll meet her when you all reach the camp of the raft-elves, where she is waiting (and has recently posted). You can PM me before that if you like. I'm even newer here than you are

Shiny. I'm still playing and paying attention, but my writing energy will be going towards an advanced short story class and an essay heavy history class this quarter, so I'll only be posting when necessary to keep up with the plot or to respond to direct interaction between my character and others. Just so you all don't start thinking I've gone and died or something...

We don't mind, ask away if you're uncertain what's happening in the game. Right now everyone has just left the borders of Greenwood, going north-east. Radagast is still far ahead. Very soon, you're going to meet Barufiniel and the raft-elves and their captain Sirandion, at the river Celduin. Good luck with the doctor's appointment.

I'm lucky that I've a plot to concentrate on because I'm not good at original posts either, as is evident in Radagast not having done much that isn't plot related. But I'll attempt to remedy that.

Have no fear, we don't bite. If PM is still too scary, you can always say so here when you're having a few openings in your schedule so people know your character is available and maybe talk to him.

Good to know, we'll keep it in mind. Short story class sounds interesting. Will we be seeing some results of it in the Writers Workshop?

How many days are we talking before we reach the river? Perhaps we spend one night on this part of the journey, storywise?

I was going to do a time lapse and bring you straight to the river, but I got called away from the computer before I could post.

One tiny nitpick, your characters have not been informed of the raft-elves yet. The idea to have them ferry us was at first only a suggestion for while I was on holiday and I only started to consider it seriously for Barufiniel's intro when Radagast had already left the company in the game. So Radagast never had the chance to tell Quickleaf and the others that he was in touch with the raft-Elves. The markers he left to follow have been mentioned, but not that they lead to the camp of the raft-Elves.

We could just pretend that Radagast mentioned the Raft-elves right?

That's a no then But I changed it, so now Quickleaf is, in hindsight, only looking forward to seeing the river..

Where it seems that Sirandion has got Barufiniel to lead them in some singing

Well since you hint so nicely....

Our first story draft is due a week from now, so I need to get on it. Something inexplicable posessed me to try second person realism instead of the usual fantasy.

I most certainly didn't mean to come off so authoritarian. But unfortunately I did not see your post here before posting in the game thread. Otherwise I would certainly have given you an answer first. I had thought not knowing about the raft-elves made more sense since they had not been mentioned in the game before outside Varna's and my posts for Sirandion. It might also gives people something more to post about if their characters got caught unware. I admit I just didn't think of the possibility of just pretending Radagast had already mentioned them. Since you have already edited your post, I'm not going to make you edit it again, unless you would still prefer to have known about the raft-elves. I can edit mine accordingly.

It's called putting the bars higher and moving out of your confort zone? I've never tried something in second person myself.

It's no problem, we'll keep it as it is, makes it better too that a surprise is coming up in the form of the Raft-elves!
