Yes, that's a great one DB.

I like the one at the end of OotP, when Harry goes ballistic and starts destroying his stuff, and Dumbledore says something like, "Please, continue to destroy my possessions. Goodness knows I have too many."

I'd forgotten about that one, Nurv... definitely awesome.

To Harry:"I see myself holding a pair of thick, woolen socks.... One can never have enough socks."

To Cornelius Fudge: "Well – it's just that you seem to be laboring under the delusion that I am going to – what is the phrase – 'Come quietly.' I am afraid I am not going to come quietly at all, Cornelius. I have absolutely no intention of being sent to Azkaban. I could break out, of course – but what a waste of time, and frankly, I can think of a whole host of things I would rather be doing."

One of my favorites also comes from HBP: "I am not worried, Harry. I am with you." Almost brought a tear to the eye.

there are many lines of dumbledores that I like very much,
One of my favourites I don't think is acctually in the book
but in the GOF trailer
"Dark and difficuilt times lie ahead harry, soon we must all make a choice, a choice between what is right and what is easy"

Can anyone confirm if its in any of the books or not?

another of my favourite lines, because it is just so out of place and random is the line about the room of requirement and the large assortment of chamber pots

"oh I would never assume I knew all of Hogwarts secrets Igor, why just this morning I took a wrong turning on the way to the bathroom and found my self in a beautifully preportioned room I had never seen before, containing a rather magnificent collection of chamberpots."

I love that second quote KotI! Subtle hints at the Room of Requirement...

I also like Dumbledore in the second book... "Impaled on your own sword Gilderoy?" (in resonse to learning Lockhart accidentally cast a memory charm on himself).

My all time favorite is in PS/SS chapter 1
McGonagall asks DD if he can erase baby-Harry's scar and he says,
Quote:
Even if I could, I wouldn't. Scars can come in handy. I have one myself above my left knee that is a perfect map of the London Underground.
I can imagine DD's scar with all the little trains actually moving in it (since it is DD scar, I assume it is magical) and little indications such as "to Heathrow 3 min" or "mind the gap, please"
Especially I can imagine DD at the tube station rising his trousers at knee height to find out were to go

Me too.

I think everything Dumbledore says is great. Here are some humourous ones I like:
"It's lucky it's dark...I haven't blushed so much since Madame Pomfrey told me she liked my new earmuffs."

"No, I was merely reading the Muggle magazines," said Dumbledore. "I do love knitting patterns."

"I would assume that you were going to offer me refreshment, but the evidence so far suggests that that would be optimistic to the point of foolishness."

Next time I had a chance, I was going to post that one. I thought it was hilarious.

I love it when the Death Eaters are taunting him about making jokes on his deathbed and he says:

"Jokes? No, no, these are manners."
