Unfortunately Belgian gun law is rather draconian but I think I can manage a supersoaker if need be. And a plastic gecko, naturally. For some reason that never made it on the forbidden arms list... yet... Mwahahahah

'Belgiër' has a nice exotic ring to it, though. I don't mind too much at that. Although I must admit I too would use 'japanees' rather than 'japans' for some words as well. 'Japanse tekeningen' for example sound more erronous to me than 'Japanese tekeningen'. I'll have to keep an eye on it. But I would have thought the 'Indiërs' and 'Indianen' would pose more problems, if I recall my school days.

Mari is right. Some of ours mods and admins have a (symbolic) weapon of choice for their peace-keeping activities. I forget how it started. Valandil for example has an inflatable hammer. I picked a plastic gecko because one was sitting at the top of my monitor at the time and it was right within reach and surprisingly usuable as a club. A very colourful and life-like Madagascar day gecko, if I'm not mistaken. I may have sometimes swung it at the screen in the more heated debates in the long years past. Some of the paint has chipped of its nose for some reason. Nowadays only used to smite spammers and my dad in arguments. I'm a bit at the disadvantage for the latter since my dad has a monitor lizard on top of his monitor and well, they're a bit bigger than a gecko.

I went to send the item back, but sending it back is almost half the cost of the original item. *sigh*

Sorry to hear that, Mari. Have you checked the sale conditions? Some shops will refund the customer the cost of sending an item back if they sent the wrong one in the first place.
