Did Gollum know they were going to destroy the Ring?

I recall him guessing they were going to Mordor but did he know the reason as to why they were going?

I don't think he figured it out at least until after the separation following the Shelob debacle. I think he knew by the next time he encountered Frodo and Sam - at Sammath Naur. Prior to this - I think it was just a puzzle to him. Maybe he even supposed that Frodo was being drawn there by Sauron - as he himself had felt drawn in.

What do others think? What do you think, AE?

I just re-read a section in ROTK and I think that Frodo made him promise to get them into Mordor and then Gollum would be released from Oath to his precious.

I agree that he was probably not aware until they were heading to the Cracks of Doom.
