Did Rowling know this?

A quote from my new encyclopedia on LotR that I got for christmas!!

Quote:
Dumbledors- In the playful Hobbit poem "Errantry" a part tells of a ferocious race of winged insects. They are named Dumbledors but nothing more is told of their origin and history.
Do you think she knew this?

I presume a character from HP is named Dumbledor? I don't read those books Anyway, I would guess that she heard the name, and it was in the back of her head, from whence she drew it out when looking for a name for whatever character.

Since you already posted this over in the Middle-Earth forum, I'm going to close this.
