90-second rule

Is there any way to get this reduced at all? I don't think we have a bunch of spammy posters on the board atm, and 90 seconds just seems too long. Please? Pretty, pretty please? *big sad puppy eyes*

It may take some programming to remove it, but even reducing it to 60 seconds (or perhaps 30) would make it much less irritating.

It's just an option the the admin control panel. Easy to change. The question is whether they want to or not. Back when this was quite heavy in tolkien traffic, 1.5 minutes was less of an issue because often-times it took a while to write out the posts, but now that it's general that's getting the most traffic, 1.5 minutes seems an awful long time to wait between posts.

Oh, and for the record, it WAS originally 60 secs.

The mod-team has discussed the matter, but at this point does not consider it opportune to change the 90-seconds rule, sorry.

Although we do not rule out that a lower delay-time might be implemented sometime in the future.

To us Elves, 90 seconds is a frighteningly small amount of time. Anytime I post, it's always a long post that takes 15 minutes or greater to complete, so the 90 second rule has only affected me perhaps once or twice - if I was in a spamming mood that is.

I can type almost 150 words in 90 seconds and I'm sure there are some here as fast or faster. I've had to leave the site to do other things while waiting to post before. Most people who run a web site don't want people leaving.
