Pick one of the available chapters from the list in the first post in this thread. Let me know which chapter and I will put you name by it in the list. Then you will research your chapter and post it's introduction when your chapter date is due. I will stick it to the top of the main forum page, and the forum will spend about three weeks discussing that chapter.

What do you mean, how long does it have to be? You research the chapter, when the time comes you post your intro to the chapter. If you have any of the HoMe then you post them as info where it can be found. If you can post maps or pics is a plus. If not, that's fine too.

Which HoME book has anything about the Return of the Noldor?
I don't own one them but I can easily rent one out from the libary

Your best source in the HoMe for info on the Return of the Noldor, I would say would be in the last three volumes. Volume 10 and 11 are the Later Quenta Silmarillion, and volume 12 is the Peoples of Middle-earth.
