Nazgul The Lord of the Beans

ok i had to bring this one up
anyone ever heard of veggie tales? it's this little kids show of computer animated vegetables and they usually do bible stories or paradies of movies and shows and each show has a moral to it.
i found this one called lord of the beans at work (i work at a library) and i had to take it home! omg it's hilarious! bear in mind that it's for like two and three year olds, but omg...
they have gimli being portrayed by a grape, and they changed the names of the characters into really funny ones. you have to rent it just to see it... lololol!

Sounds fun. I'm familiar with some of the veggie tales songs. Is this one new? Are the beans supposed to be evil or something?

oh yeah, i heard about this, haven't seen it, yet, i was kinda worried to tell you the truth but just so long as they make fun of PJ and Tolkien. i saw the preview of the army of sporcs, that looked pretty funny edit: this episode was not on the preview however, its my own...umm...random-ness.

spork1: death to vegetables

veggie aragorn:let us through the pantry of death and summon and army of PO-TA-TOS to kefeat the evil plastic sporks.

I've read about this and had wondered if my just-turned-4 year old nephew would like it. Since you say it's geared toward the 2's and 3's, I may get it for him. He likes the Veggie Tales silly songs tape I got him.

I want to see this...the ads look so funny. How close of a parody is it?

Its great, not a real close parody, but it makes fun of the film more than the books for example the frodo/gandalf laughing scene:

frodo veggie: your late

gandalf veggie: i come preciesely when i mean to

frodo veggie: *chuckles lightly*

gandalf veggie: *chuckles* then starts laughing raucosly*

frodo veggie: *stands there*

gandalf veggie: HA HA HA AH HA HA HA HEE HEE HO HO HO HAA HAA HAA HA A HAHA HAHHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAAHHHHHHHHHHHAAHHAAH

frodo veggie: *starts to frown*

gandalf veggie: HA HA HA AH HA HA HA HEE HEE HO HO HO HAA HAA HAA HA A HAHA HA HA HA AH HA HA HA HEE HEE HO HO HO HAA HAA HAA HA A HAHA HAHHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAAHHHHHHHHHHHAAHHAAH
oh my what was so funny?

I bought this for my kids for Christmas, ages 4 and 7, both of whom like veggie tales. I like them myself, they're quite well written. But we haven't watched it, of course, because it isn't Christmas yet! But I knew I had to get it.

edit: never mind, I forgot which forum I was in.

Very funny parody.
Love that part with the Sporks and the cookies
Lord Scaryman: Sporks!
Lead Spork: We listen to Cookieman now.
hahaha...
And then the song with Larry...great spoof of Aragorn-Arwen.

I bought that. It was great. I haven't watched the special features on it yet or listened the audio comentary on it, but I did watch an alternate scene they had for the Rasberry Forest scene. If Veggietales were for an older crowd I think they might have left it in.

I laughed! They used the name I had always given him (Legolas): Leg O Lamb the Squash!

I've got little siblings and we got that one for Christmas... Gimli- ie Grumpy- was only worried about dinner - "And tonight was meatloaf nght!"
And Aragorn-Ericorn(?)- sings a song about his Elf who doesn't speak the same language as him.
I'm past the kid age and some would think that I would not like it. It is too hilarious to not like.
