just one? lol

I have so many but to keep it short, two are from the movie and one from the books. the first is in FOTR at the COE:
Aragorn: If by my life or death I can protect you, I will. You have my sword.

next is in ROTK during the siege of Minas Tirith: I know someone already said this one but oh well, lol
Pippin: I didn't think It would end this way
Gandalf: end? no, the journey doesn't end here, death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain curtain of this world rolls back and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it...
Pippin: Gandlaf? see what?
Gandalf: white shores and beyond. A far green country under a swift sunrise
Pippin: well, that isn't so bad
Gandalf: no, no it isn't

and the other is in the books, in The Two Towers when Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli finally meet up with Merry and Pippin at Orthanc and they are eating and smoking and Legolas gets tired of all the smoke and says:
Legolas:"Well, I am going back into the open air, to see what the wind and sky are doing!"

and of course my sig and a million others, lol

Grey ship, grey ship, do you hear them calling,
The voices of my people that have gone before me?
I will leave, I will leave the woods that bore me;
For our days are ending and our years failing.
I will pass the wide waters lonely sailing.
Long are the waves on the Last Shore falling,
Sweet are the voices in the lost Isle calling,
In Eresëa, in Elvenhome that no man can discover,
Where the leaves fall not: land of my people forever!”

Geez, probably the entire movies. Just kidding.

#1) Theoden: "Arise, arise riders of Theoden..."

#2) Gandalf: "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us".

#3) Boromir/Aragorn exchange when Boromir is dying at end of FOTR. Especially when Boromir says, "I would have followed you my brother, my captain, my king" and then dies.

#4) Gimli: "That still only counts as one!"

I guess I don't really see why people dislike Legolas' lines. They aren't that bad. If anything, I really don't like the way VM did Aragorn's speech at the Black Gate. He could've put a little more "oomph" into if you know what I mean. After his little speech of "the age of men comes crashing down" doesn't seem to inspire me especially if I was to die there at that gate. Maybe b/c I'm comparing it to Theoden's speech at the Pelennor Fields.

Frodo: You're late.

Gandalf: A wizard is never late. Nor is he early. He arrives presicly(sp) when he means to.

I can't remember now, but weren't the exact same words used in the book to describe Valinor? If so, it has to be the same way you pictured it

1) "Èomer! Take your éored down the left flank! Gamling, follow the King's banner down the center! Grimbold, take your company right, after you pass the wall! Ride forth! And fear no darkness! Arise! Arise, Riders of Théoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day...a red day...ere the sun rises! Ride now...Ride now...Ride! Ride for ruin and the world's ending! Death!" "Death!" "Death!" "Death!" "Death!!!" "Death!!!" "Forth, Eorlingas!"
-Theoden

2) "Be silent! Keep your forked tongue behind you teeth. I have not passed through fire and death to bandy crooked words with a witless worm!"
-Gandalf

3)"And some things that should not have been forgotten, were lost. History became legend, legend became myth, and for two-and-a-half thousand years, the Ring passed out of all knowledge."
-Galadriel

4)"Ooh, that was close..."
-Pippin
"I think I've broken something..."
-Merry

5)"They took the little ones!" "Be still." "Frodo! Where is Frodo?" "I let Frodo go." "Then you did what I could not. I tried to take the ring from him." "The Ring is beyond our reach now." "Forgive me, I did not see. I have failed you all." "No Boromir. You fought bravely. You have kept your honor." "Leave it. It is over. The world of men will fall and all will come to darkness, and my city to ruin." "I do not know what strength is in my blood, but I swear to you, I will not let the White City fall. Nor our people fail!" "Our people... our people. I would have followed you my brother... my Captain... my King. "Be at peace, son of Gondor."
-Boromir and Aragorn

if you are talking strictly movie quotes, the 'white shores etc' quote is actually the first paragraph of Fog on the Barrow-Downs, but
phidgity-me-sprazzlephatz and so on

FotR:
It is in Men that we must place our trust now. [Gandalf]

TTT:
I think at last that we understand one-another, Frodo Baggins. [Faramir]

RotK:
For Frodo![Aragorn]
You shall not enter Gondor.[Aragorn (EE)]

plus many others besides

Actually, it's just "Fly you fools!" and then Frodo does his girlish screaming.
Wow... I haven't posted here since October.
Anyway:
The "Merry's Simple Courage' scene in SEE. Only thing is, I don't remeber the lines.
Anything Bilbo says.

My favorite quotes were already stated, so..... I won't take the time o post them again.
But they are: when Gandalf speaks to Frodo in Moria about life and death
the speech that Aragorn gives at the black gates
the whole conversation Sam and Frodo have after destroying the ring *sigh* I almost get teary eyed
