I read this little bit of an interview with PJ, and he said that he was considering to change the2nd movies name to something else cause of the terrorist thing...he changed his mind though, cause "the fans would kill" him!!!
How bad would that be!!!

umm...yes I would safely say that changeing the title would be an outright death wish for JP. Good thing he decide not to.

Changing the title wouldn't be so bad, afterall Tolkien was never happy with it.
The real problem for PJ would have been what to call it.
The only alternative 'Tolkien' title I can think of would be 'The Treason of Isengard', but that might have been confusing so it's good they kept the title.

That would be pretty bad...but what do you people think about them moving Shelob to RotK? I mean, it's not big plot change or character switching, but waiting a whole 'nother year? Eeek! Also, will anyone else be upset if they cut the characters of Elledan (sp?) and Elrohir? I know I will be!

You will need to be upset then, It would be bad movie-making to introduce characters, minor ones at that, in the second movie that could have been introduced in the first.

I think the title can refer to any two towers you want it to. TT was a compromise title and Tolkien probably wouldn't have used it if LoTR had been published in one volume as he originally intended.

Yeah, I know, but what about Morwen, then? Okay, so she couldn't be introduced in FotR, but...So do you think, then, that the Prince of Dol Amroth will be cut as well? I can't remember what two towers Tolkien means, but it says at the very end of the Fellowship of the Ring. (In my version at least.) I seem to remember them being Orthanc and Minas Morgul, but I'm probably wrong.
