I'm meeting IronParrot

Tomorrow I will meet IronParrot, who is coming to New Jersey to visit Princeton. Funny, spending July 4th with a bunch of Canadians .

Anyway, if all goes well, I'm hoping his parents will allow him to go to EntmootCon once they realize we're normal people. (Oh wait... )

JL, how far are you from IP? If his folks find Ben's family "normal", would you be coming to Jersey too?

And although his folks's opinions would certainly influence my parents, the greatest burden is financial. 400 gigabyte RAID arrays are not cheap.

Yes, he does in fact have pens on his belt .

His family was very nice (he has a brother named Ben also!). Of course, I had gotten the name of their hotel wrong (who knew there was a difference between the Mariott and the Courtyard by Marriot?) but since the two hotels were five minutes from each other, as soon as we realized our error we went to the correct one .

Unlike Tater, he is more normal-sized and is just a few inches taller than me. We had a nice dinner and then walked around Princeton. For some reason the fireworks were Monday, but considering that a thunderstorm broke out, I don't think we'd want to sit out on an open field to watch them anyway .

Perhaps the most interesting thing we learned was that Johnny Lurker is not named Johnny at all, but *gasp* Russ . (I guess Russ Lurker doesn't have the same ring to it )

5'11"??? That's completely normal. Ben is just abnormally small. In fact, I'm 5'11" as well.
