Why thank 'ee. And while we're off topic...

I can tell you what they teach in schools these days: The Beatles.

I was appalled to discover that young Master Samwise's History coverage for year 6 seemed to consist of nothing but The Fab Four.

(Now, I think we have to combine the fact that clearly his teacher was a Beatles nut, there probably is a modern social history option and that he is a totally unreliable witness. Still, I'm not one to let the facts stand in the way of my umbrage.)

There is a great column about the scientific illiteracy of the media called Bad Science at http://www.guardian.co.uk. Don't let the leftiness put you off, it's a great column!

Reminds me of what my son's first grade teacher said - "I won't believe half the stuff your kids say about you if you won't believe half the stuff they say about me!"

Excellent! Samwise started even earlier, at nursery.
"What did you do at nursery today?"
* shrugs * "Nothing"

Nice work with the stats Gaffer! I'm very impressed.

My conclusion is that the article was full of useless numbers. This goes for surveys too. If you (general you) conduct a survey but don't give the error or sample size, your results are undefensible garbage.

Haa! Thanks for ruining the avatar I've had for nigh on four years.

That's part of the background. It's easier to tell in colour.

that's odd - I remember your avvy, but I don't remember the "smoke" part - did you avvy used to be in color? It looks different to me now somehow ... but perhaps I just need more chai *runs to cafe*

Back in the day, this avatar was in colour without writing. Then Twista made it black and white and added the letters. It has been this way ever since!

Er, so, what were we talking about before?

The title of this thread is has been

Gays, lesbians, bisexuals

but that 's redundant since lesbians are gay as homosexuals

We now close this thread and open Part Two, entitled:

Homo-/Bi-/Trans-/Undecided- SEXUALS,et. al. PART TWO

and found at

http://entmoot.tolkientrail.com/show...069#post526069

Look for it.
