Life after the Ring and the Hunt for the Ring
There is an interesting aspect to this "Life after Rings" problem. Here is a quote from The Counsil of Erlond:

Then all they had to do was to dig their Rings in Barad Dur, and they could have lived happily ever after. So their behaviour during the "hunt for the Ring" was not so suicidal, as Olmer supposed. a mirror at orrodel? how odd! maybe khamul had better bring zimra to task? who else may have put it there? particularly enjoyed your vivid descriptions of the jewellery and the dress ... well written! ... rian and earniel seem rather playful ... you might almost say frisky glad to see someone is rushing to the reception!
