I had a dream about being an elf, twice, and one dream where I was fighting orcs. I'm not making this up!

Obsessed? Who knows what my subconscious is trying to tell me...

Or how about, You pretend that the characters are all real and you try to speak in the elf language they give you? Or use the code in the back of the books, or sing all their songs and start calling your friend's names from the book. I have done all of these too many times, and I have done a lot of you alls too.

you wear the ring an a chain around your neck and absentmindedly stroke it
and another:
the only dreams you remember all have something to do with LotR
and:
(i might have already put this one)
you fall asleep listening to a LotR soundtrack so that you'll dream about it
and:
you have your Pippin action figure over your bed sword-drawn to protect you from non-LotR dreams.
you kiss Pippin's face on the Fellowship poster over your bed every night before you go to sleep

You listen to the BBC version on cassette as you drive, then you watch the extended version DVD when you get home, then you listen to the movie soundtracks when you turn off the DVD. THEN YOU READ THE BOOKS AGAIN!

i can't believe it, i actually can not think of anymore ways to tell if i'm obsesed... besides, of course, (someone already posted it) coming to entmoot everyday and posting about how obsessed we are, which is pretty sad... but, WHO CARES!!!

but i'll try:
1. your aim away messages are all in Sindarin
2. your desktop is all nature colors and nature icons
3. you sleep on the floor instead of a bed
4. you make a Legolas costume for halloween but wear it all the time or fun
5. whenever you practice archery, or horseback riding you wear the costume
6. your family begins looking at sychiatric institues for minors

i'm guilty of all, except the last one, family hasn't gone past joking on that one, thank God

1. You cant see the wallpaper in your room because of all the LOTR posters and pictures you have hanging up.
2. You shout Norolim Asfaloth(or Bill) at your bike.
3. You name the river nearest to your house the Brandywine.
4. You walk 2/12 miles from your house over a gravel road in breeches, a big floppy t-shirt, and barefeet
5. You get ticked off at a kid in your school for calling Sam gay and hit him over the head with a bag
6. The said bag is painted on both sides with LOTR stuff
7. You buy hairy pony tails just so you can chop them up and glue them to your feet
8. You chase your dog with a stick you named Sting calling him an evil warg.
9. You're parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Siblings and friends have bought everythign for you a year in advance beacue they know what you want.
10.You know so much about LOTR and Middle Earth that your family just goes to you for all their LOTR related problem.

If you checked 1 you can know that you are obsessed. If you checked more than one you really need to see a phsyciatrist. If you checked all ten then there is not a soul on earth that can save you...so go and happy Tolkieniting...Oh forgot one more...You get on LOTR Personality tests and if you dont get your favorite character you do it over and over again till you do. Then you proclaim to the world that you are like so and so.

A few more:
1) You get homesick if you don't read a bit of tolkien everyday.
2) You prefer your mates on the moot to the people you actually know.
3) You wanna live in new zealand and name your kids after elves and have a tolkien wedding.
4) You read every word of the appendixes because you don't wanna face the fact that you've finished the book.
5) You even read the publishing details etc because you love the book so much.
6) You sit there stroking the books and rub your face against it smelling the pages.
7) You hate all other fantasy things with a passion because you think they are stealing tolkien's ideas.
I could go on forever...

oh i am sooo guilty... i'm with Blackboar, i have more Elvish than hobbit intrest. My mother and i made this Legolas costume for me to where for halloween and still where it all the time for fun, especially when practicing my archery... the neighbors think i'm crazy

and i love the looks i get... obsessed! what gave me away?...
