Mmkay... so I find that writing for Galadriel is more daunting than I thought.. I'd like to give her a nice intro... but I don't know if there's anything bad going to happen. As far as ...

I got interrupted by a phone call and I forgot where I was going with that. Suffice it to say that I would like to jump in with Galadriel but would like some advice as to what to write about. All I really know is that Elrond called for Gil-Galad really quickly.

Random forebodings? A descision to come and visit? Reception of reports of Numenorean ships sailing into Belfalas after a tsunami? I believe the first order of drama Curu intended was the fall of Numenor, so anything building up to that would probably work at this point. You might want to poke her to verify that, though.

Okay... I could probably get the random forebodings going now... if Numenor hasn't fallen yet, then how are we in Rivendell and Lindon? However, it would be nice to have a definite time period that isn't in years, because I don't very well have the timeline of the history of Middle Earth memorized.

Edit: Just checked and in the first post, she says it takes place near the end of the Second Age, around the Battle of the Last Alliance. So... no forebodings about the fall of Numenor... although I suppose I could... Hey.. there's an idea... Be back!

I just reread the whole thread, and we specified it further, and we're actually in the year when Numenor falls (SA 3319).
So it could be any day now!

Oh... okay.
Gotcha.
Hm... well, then, my great epiphany isn't as great as it sounded. Back to the drawing board, then... and it's a good thing I got distracted by LLL... huh?

Hey! It turns out that Galadriel, apparently, settled in Rivendell for the end of the Second Age, beginning of the First Age.

Is the Encyclopedia of Arda something that we trust or is it discredited as badly as Wikipedia in a research paper?

It's fairly trustworthy, just not very detailed in places. Having Galadriel already in Imladris or just about to come there to stay for the rest of the Second Age works just fine.

Mmkay... It said that she and Celeborn were kind of touring Eastern Middle-Earth before they came and stayed at Rivendell... so I guess they could be on their way back from Gondor and this could be why the came to Rivendell in the first place? I don't know how she'd know though.. unless they were already practicing some of that amazing mind-talking they do.

In its concluding passage the narrative returns to Galadriel, telling that the sea-longing grew so strong in her that (though she deemed it her duty to remain in Middle-earth while Sauron was still unconquered) she determined to leave Lórinand and to dwell near the sea. She committed Lórinand to Amroth, and passing again through Moria with CelebrÃ*an she came to Imladris, seeking Celeborn.

There (it seems) she found him, and there they dwelt together for a long time; and it was then that Elrond first saw CelebrÃ*an, and loved her, though he said nothing of it. It was while Galadriel was in Imladris that the Council referred to above was held.

But at some later time [there is no indication of the date] Galadriel and Celeborn together with CelebrÃ*an departed from Imladris and went to the little-inhabited lands between the mouth of the Gwathló and Ethir Anduin. There they dwelt in Belfalas, at the place that was afterwards called Dol Amroth.
From Unfinished Tales: History of Galadriel and Celeborn

No exact years are given, but this was some time before the end of the Second Age.

Okay, so maybe I'll have Galadriel just finding Celeborn pretty darn near Rivendell...

Anyone object to me moving Celeborn around as well until we find a RPer for him? Since he is Galadriel's husband...

Mmkay... Now I've got to find a way to intro Galadriel without being boring or too long-winded. Because let's face it. I'm long-winded when it comes to typing. Or maybe I'm long-fingered.

Just go for it. Maybe if we keep the game moving our GM will remember it exists...

The thing about having your own storyline for a while is that you can write the whole thing first and then post it in pieces. It's kind of fun.

Have you ever tried to type one word and had an entirely different word come out? I just did that with "kind". I tried to type "kind" and got "like". As if my unconscious was trying to say something that my conscious mind didn't know about.. Whoa.

So I completely forgot that EAR volunteered to do CelebrÃ*an. She hasn't posted since something like the 13 of October, though, so I think I'll message her and move CelebrÃ*an conservatively until I hear back. CelebrÃ*an will be a very boring character until I hear from EAR (haha.. a pun!) either way. But the first part I've written is mostly about Galadriel and her introduction anyway. So it's okay.

Yeah... EAR has disappeared a bit and didn't do anything with the character before doing so. It would probably work better to have Celebrian as a public character for now and then if EAR returns or some one else joins and commits to playing her she'll already be in the storyline for them.

Glorfindel took his leave, and Rameldir decided he might as well do the same.
Either he takes his leave "off-stage", and we're ready to post about the next day next time - or the Threadmaster comes back and decides to write some more about Elrond before Rameldir takes his leave.

The post can be used either way.

I was trying to set up a transition to the next day/time, since this bit seemed to have fizzled. Shall we wait for a bit or do we assume that our game master has been kidnapped by Vampires for the time being?

Our game master has apparently not had any help from her Muse since she left Derry in May. I guess we might as well go for the Vampires option ...

Does Twilight have anything to do with Vampires?
