Thank you! I really should getting around to reading that there manual. *darts eyes*

no, we aren't each other's "type" by any means (our many theological battles in the past show that! ), but one should never turn down a friendly kiss!

But a smile is fine, too

And on-topic - I miss photography, but with 3 kids, something's gotta go. I admit that I have a digital camera that puts a date-stamp on the pics - tacky, maybe, but very handy!

When I did do photog in high school/uni, I had a nice Nikon SLR. I love B&W pics.

Definitely handy! You should be able to remove the date stamp quite easily in Photoshop...or turn it off, if you don't want it

I am loving my dSLR - it's a fantastic learning tool because I can experiment and make as many mistakes as I want without wasting film....but b&w is the one thing that digital doesn't do nearly as well as film . And I struggle to get good conversions...It's a trade off I guess...

A question.

I was told that the program on the CD which I got with the Nikon Camera is the only program with which i extract the pics with.

There is no other way is there?

(you're just mad because I always used to beat you in the debates here! )

Well the Queen of Rabbit-trails could be a guy...

Er yes, photography. I once spent about twenty minutes in Tallinn, Estonia (amazing place!!) taking the same picture over and over. It was such a great view I just couldn't stop. I had to have the perfect picture!

Normally I just take 2 or 3 pictures and leave it at that. I was a tad obsessed there... 0_o

Nurvi - Is there a way you can show us your Tallinn photographs, or at least one or two of your favourite shots from this session? Estonia - all I know about Estonia is that there's beautiful women there, and it's a tiny, tiny country, formerly part of the USSR. With beautiful, beautiful women.

Sure Lotesse! I'll post the one I got all obsessed over at my deviantArt site. I hope that people who aren't members can still see it. Let me know if that's a problem.

Now I have to go find the pictures...

I love Estonia so much. I want to go back, and visit the coutryside.

(edit moved to new post)

God FORBID! I hate those programs that come with the camera. If that's the case, it's not worth it. Those programs are so useless and confusing, and you have to go thorugh such a roundabout way. But no, I think, if you have Windows, it's just a plug-and-play setup, and (on my comp at least) it pops up with a window giving you a choice. Choose the one that says something like "View With Microsoft Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" and save each individual photo, but what's easier is if you plug your camera into USB, close that window that I just mentioned, and instead go to My Computer>(your USB drive, which will probably be replaced by the name of the camera), and double click that. You can select all of the pictues, then after saving all of them into their own folder (I recommend having one already set up and open in a separate window. My Pictures works, too), you can delete the ones you don't want.

I found that picture I was talking about Lotesse.
linkage

Grey_Wolf, you should be able to open the files on your camera through Windows. Your camera is a removable drive (just like a CD or a jumpdrive), and Windows can open it as Drive E or G or whatever your computer calls it.

Once you've done that, you can copy the folder from the camera (removable drive) to your C drive. I always do this instead of using my "default" software. It's way simpler.

I think it helps if you have Windows XP.

edit: So basically, what Trolls' Bane said.

I don't have a digital camera yet, so no....

Wha?
EA, those never do any good. You'd have to threaten them with using another planet's gravity to slingshot an asteroid on a collision course with Earth before they'd change it. I don't like Deimos as much as Phobos, so I suppose I have at least that much leverage.
But then again, that would be cruel for one of my homeworld's moons, as it's mainly just the name given to it by you Terrans that I don't like.
