Okay, for the sake of the slow witted

Bilbo mistakenly thought he had arrived at The Mountain (you know, The Lonely Mountain, the one with the fire breathing lizard type creature and the heap of gold and jewels) before he had actually arrived there. What was it he saw that made him think he had arrived at his destination?

(He he, why use 15 words when 51 will do)!
