It's awful. I'm the kind of person who will make the joke anyway, because I hate to waste it, even if I'm the only one who gets it, but that tends to alienate others and make them think I'm weird.

Not really. Is it really that important to split threads nowadays when nothing but tumbleweeds and all of maybe four or five mooters post in a week, and that's when it is busy...? What bandwidth are we preserving when it is bots and slurp spiders that are the ones eating up the bandwidth?

*Whew* Big events for us the next few days. We finally close the sale of our house in Chicago on Friday. Then on next Wednesday, we close on the purchase of a house here in Wyoming. We'll spend the rest of February moving in to the house we're buying.
The house in Chicago is the first one we ever bought, and we were there 20 years. Had all our kids while we lived there, and it was the only home they ever knew until we moved here. So it's somewhat emotional to part with it. Especially for my wife. We poured ourselves into it. But these next few days, and the next month, will sort of finalize our transition out here.

I remember us moving from the place where I had lived from the age of 4 till the age of 22. Emotional.

Thanks! The hardest part may have been in August - when we left Chicago and moved out here. This sale just completed the departure from Chicago. Cut the last of our ties - other than the friendships.
We moved into a rental until we could sell there - and now we're ready to buy out here. We close on the purchase this coming Wednesday - Feb 3.
