Earniel:It's my word for me, since I prefer bread and grain products to actual vegetables (well, I don't mind most of them as long as they are served in some sort of dish like a casserole or on a pizza or something). Everyone always asks how I can be a vegetarian and not like veggies, so I made up that term.
I love veggie lasagne; there's a great recipe for it in The Vegetarian Epicure, but it takes a while to make so you must start it well ahead of when you want to eat. For a change,I substitute different veggies than they use.
Hmm.. the tone of this thread seems to have changed since I was last here.

In my incredible knowledge, I had known that meat indeed iseth not fruit, and likewise fruit iseth not meat, my divine intentions were merely to mention an edibility which doth not equate with flesh.

And then, a power greater than the Mighty Three will'st come and close this thread, which would greatly sadden me, and cause a burden upon my breast, upon which my vegetarian vents will no longer be allowed to be shared with mine fellow entmooters.

Oops, must have missed this the first time 'round. FF, now that they are dealing with how to make synthetic meat, ie from cloned embryos, how do you think the domesticates are going to fare when this market takes off? And although we won't be slaughtering animals anymore, (which is good), they will still have problems because suddenly their protection from predators, and free food have been swiped from them.

As a vegetarian, I don't object to the agricultural industry per se, but rather, the immense commercialisation of it. Farms have their purposes (protect, feed, etc), what happens when society doesn't need these anymore? What happens to all those domesticates?

I am relaxed, i just love bagels. I apologise for acting in a hasty way. Very un-entlike i must admit.

Since your knowledge claims to be incredible, then i seek this answer....how can i become vegetarian? I love bacon.

Bacon, yes, sometimes I miss bacon as well, but then I pull out the trusty TOFU BACON Muahahahahahaha...

You can get tofu bacon? Does it taste like real bacon? If it does then i could easily be vegetarian. I don't like most meats.

Yeah... anyways, tofu bacon tastes almost like real bacon... they even have the texture right.

Anyway, thanks for the tofu idea. I shall attempt to live without the bacon now. (i have wanted to be a vegetarian for ages and tried but couldn't. I don't like fish you see and some vegetarians eat fish.) Whta are your opinions on fish? BTW, you are obsessed by TOFU and also...marmite is nice!!!

Tofu.... yum yum yum, especially in Thai spicy soup.

Don't eat fish, mainly cos I don't like sea food. But I have no real objections to eating fish (unless it's tuna: driftnets), now chicken eating is BAD.

I have objections to the fishing thing. If you knew how the fish got to the supermarket shelf you would feel sick...i wrote an essay on this in English.
Can anyone justify eating meat? I know i eat a little but i don't want to! Why the chickens bad?

Chicken is worst than other meat, cos they spend their lives cooped up in little small cages. Poor things. At least cows and sheep get to roam free for a while.

I always used to eat marmite. Then I found out how disgusting it tasted on bread or toast.

Now, however, nobody will be able to stop me from eating marmite on French toast!! I eat at least 12 slices at a time...
