the more battle coverage, the better for me. i loved reading about the battles in the TT & ROTK and enjoyed figuring out troop movement and battle strategy using a map.
& you have to admit, JRRT does wonderful battles!

"I think I would have liked Ian McKellan as Gandalf if Jackson didn't have him acting so stupid, i.e. hitting his head on the chandelier and beam"
I have to stand up for Sir Ian about that: I bet none of you have lived in a house built for much smaller people -- I have, I'm 5"11" and my in-laws have a house -- we won't go into details -- but it's about 5'8" and I hate going there, i hit my head all the time on the beams, the relatives all get a big kick out of watching. They would no doubt love that scene in Bag End. My point: even if you know you should duck, you always forget: Gandalf's just acting realistically. (ignoring the point that he should be about 20 times smarter than me) Please quit picking on him for hitting his head. Also I'm glad to hear that the soundtrack sounds like every other adventure movie soundtrack; I can just buy any of em and have the same delightful listening experience. That's excellent! |

Battles are good, I like watching them. They just shouldn't forget the other stuff. I must say I'mactually looking forward to watching TTT battles and how PJ manages to fit them in with the non-battle-moments. Aaarg WHEN is that trailer gonna show!? I so hate it being left out of it!

Yes. Absolutely. Without question would I see it again.
And I'd pay money to see it again, too. I've seen it four times, twice in theaters and twice at home on my couch. (Yes, it was perfectly legal! ) If you want to know a secret...I thought about sneaking in to see it when I was at the theater with my dad over the weekend. Didn't get the chance, though. Better luck next time, ne?

Very carefully? lol
No, there's a software that people can by and download movies off the internet. I don't know if you have to pay a fee to download them or not. An employee of my dad's has the software and downloaded them to disk, and let us borrow them. As long as the disks are not sold or rented, I believe it is legal.
