my youngest cat (minus the kittens) has finally become an adult, he brought and killed his first bird today, on his own, although i would rather it wasn't dumped on my bedroom floor this morning but cats are as cats do i suppose

anti-happy: the sun is out, so i have a headache and touch of nausea, us nocturnal types aren't used to this sort of treatment from Anar

HOWEVER today I'm trying to talk my dad into getting me a special sound card for the computer so I can record my singing onto this computer and edit/mess around with it . With any luck the sound card will fix my problem with not picking up anything but static and a tiny whisper of my voice.

Meh, if he wont buy it for me I'll just buy it with my own money. I mean I've said I will, but I'm hoping he'll do one of those things he does some times where, as I reach for my wallet, he's a step ahead of me, holding out his credit card. I always like to fumble with my wallet to give him a second or two to offer :P. Some times it works, some times it don't!

I'M GONNA GET A SOUND CARD TODAY (one way or another)! WHOOOO HOOO!

So you were saying on Atharon . What does the sound card do, exactly?

It makes stuff sound purrdy .

Well, really what it does is it just translates sounds--this one is a better quality than the one that came with the computer, so basically any sound that goes 'through' this sound card will come out sounding better than it did on the other one.

What it really means is that things sound more realistic. There was this piano clip that I had that sounded very pretty, but very fake. With the new sound card it sounds almost like a real piano would.

If you're paying for it as well, then anytime, dear. So did you succeed in tricking your dad into paying for the sound card?

cause for happiness: I just spend up to seven hours on a drawing. It's been aaaages since I had the time to sit down and just draw and paint something decent. At least half a year. And the drawing came out much better than I could have hoped. Very happy sea elf now.

I DID IT!

I got the sound card to record directly from a casset tape to an MP3 file! Now I can move my Lord of the Rings collection to a CD and listen to it in the car and at other places! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

I can even pop a CD in on my way to choir practice and listen to a little bit each week .

A good friend of mine got married Saturday I really like her husband, too! They got LOTR movie swords (Aragorn's and Arwen's) for cutting the cake! Really cool swords - heavy, and really nicely made. I WAAAANNNTTT some too!

And I finished the afghan I was crocheting for my husband

Uuuh, do I have to answer that?

This week was rather tough, very busy and on top of that I suspect my computer at work to have crashed during my back-ups so that I've lost an entire week of work. But of course it had to happen friday afternoon when every one from the computer department was already at home. So I'll be fretting the whole weekend about whether or not I have to redo 40 hours of work.

But screw that because
I SAW QUEEN ON TOUR!

I won't bore you all with a detailed report of the night so for those interested, PM me. So now I'll just go:

WOOOHOOO!!!! QUEEN!QUEEN!QUEEN!QUEEN!QUEEN!QUEEN!

speaking of Queen

I was in London when Freddie M. died; a most somber moment.

Well it concerns Queen too!
