I think of Star Wars all the time when I watch LotR. Or maybe the other way around. The whole thing with Obi-Wan dying mid-way through the first episode (okay, okay, technically it's episode 4- I'm excluding the first three, which I hate)- and then coming 'back to life' in the second; the droids/Ring showing up on the underdog's doorstep and thus throwing him right in the middle of the war... there's more, and I can't think of them now, despite the fact that I just watch 4, 5, and 6 a few days ago. I think that George Lucas might have taken a little inspiration from Tolkien.

Always glad to hear about more poeple that doesn't like the new Star Wars movies They aren't nearly as good as 4, 5 & 6!

I would have had Aragorn give a better explaination (similar to how done in the book) of why the Hobbits should trust Aragorn instead of the abrupt manner portrayed in the movie.

In Weathertop:

Have the Hobbits huddled around the fire for warmth & protection. When Black Riders are detected have Aragorn organize the party with torches around the fire.

Forget about torching the nazgul (although nice visually this leads to awkward questions). Have the nazgul leave soon after stabbing Frodo. No need to show a Ranger sending 5 black riders running single handed. (This is LOTR and not a typical Western)

just some thoghts for now.
