Although I personally am favourable to personal authonoly and think that consenting adults should be able to structure their relationships as they see fit, this belief of mine is independent of the LGBT thread.

personally, i think that civil partnerships are a step in the right direction, albeit a small step, but i don't think i would consider taking that step for myself, at least not for at least a few years
