It's so hard to choose just one guy from the Sil. I love Finrod and Fingolfin and Turgon, but if I had to choose just one, I would have to go for my Gil-Galad. I'm completely obsessed with him. I even have his banner hanging on my bedroom wall.

It could have been a literary discussion, you know ...
I looked at it right now (completely forgetting that I had looked at it some months ago as well) and thought, ok, this is a thread about interesting Men, no Elves here, but lots of interesting characters even so. Then you mean males ...

Continuing the fun.... (who is with me? )
I saw this, and my own mental image was challenged, rocked and shaken to the very core of its foundations... This is Amandil! Oh my...!!! What a lovely concept. My image of Amandil as a very old man is now hereby irrevocably shattered... ... I couldn't help swooning ... Elendil, my darling, forgive me... Ahh, Lords of Andúnië ...... *swoons* .....

As for me, I admire Kings of the main line of Elros: Aldarion the Mariner, Ciryatan who finally understood how to use Middle Earth to Numenor's advandage Atanamir who had the guts to tell the Valar what he thought of them, their silly Ban and proudly proclaim his right to immortality Adunakhor who totally refused to lick elven boots and use their language and finally Ar-Pharazon, so bold, so proud, human Feanor in a way... Imagine the glory of having Sauron plead for mercy at your feet! Or the pleasure of trampling the oh-so-holy and forbidden land of the Valar? Pity he ended so badly, but he perished with his banner nailed to the mast. Sail ho and to victory or death! |

... You mean the line that ended with the ill-fated Pharazôn?
(And, wait just a minute... *who* is the usurper...??? )
