Any specific reasons the toads had to be caught, or was it just for fun?
Just visiting. Under some beech trees...just enormous. I picked them up to show some kids, and say hello, then put them back in the same places.

I doubt many have gone far. But toads are less bound to water than frogs, so they can be found further away from the water edge, ours prefer low growth or wood deposits.

But if you're having the rains like we do, chances are good for sightings. Especially at the evenings. There's a toad we've nick-named Kitchen Toad, that lives under a shrub next to the kitchen door. On rainy evenings, she often hops inside the house before our feet so we have to pay attention we don't step on her, shut her in the house or squash her between the swinging door!

One of these toads was really outsize. I suppose it must be a Woodhouse's Toad, because it resembles that more than other toads that are supposed to be around here, but it doesn't resemble it all that much.

I am. It's not like... a thrilling job. But basically I'm getting paid 1 dollar for every ten minutes I spend there working, plus it's like they give me a $1.90 bonus every hour just for being awesome.

... or... you know... it's like I make 7.90 an hour.

...

ANYWAYS .

I have to admit that I also love having money again . That rocks hardcore, as my new CD (Brendan James! ^_^), pimpin' sunglasses ($10--awesome), and bowl of chef boyarde can attest to.

YAY WORK!

*raises eyebrow* I thought you were working for your tuition?

Earn, I was mistaken, they are frogs. And several did get squished unfortunately. But we haven't seen them for a while now and I think we do have the same weather you do.
How was the storm around your place 2 nights ago? When I went to walk the dog, a tree had broken in two. Probably the core had rotted away already, though it was still blooming and bearing fruits.

*pours out several glasses of cider and places them in the refrigerator* Take a glass if you like.

Hi Sis.
I have a bloody foot. But my room finally looks sort of sorted out. And the glass is now gone. ^_^

In my room? No, I didn't have a party. I have a few globes with snow in it and a fairy and some of them were on my window sill. I think someone may have knocked it off when opening or closing my curtains in my absence.
So when I came in that corner today to sort out the stuff I had stacked there, my foot found some of the glass. I didn't even notice till I saw some red stains in my carpet (which I all got out )

What are you up to today?

Hopefully, not much.

I'm designing a lamp, and busy with processing the harvest...I'm making flavored vinegars, pickles, cough syrup, and cake, and trying to figure out the best way to use some absolutely STUNNING eggplant I over picked. Eggplant is tough to store, so I have to do something and freeze it, I think.

I ought to be laying tile, but I have a small carpentry hold-up.

How's work?

I have no work, but my family is keeping me pretty busy though today for the first time this week they all got dressed. They are still sick. And I have to visit my grandmother everyday and do the household and stuff. So I'm pretty busy and when my work called to say they forgot to plan me in for the remainder of this week I told them they didn't have to bother.

I went on a two hour bikingtrip yesterday though and during the nap-time when I don't have to take care of tea and stuff I read my book, so all is going pretty well.

What sort of lamp are you designing? Oh, and eggplant goes very well with stirfried rice and lots of real soysauce. Just add whatever veggies you want. Egg tastes nice with it as well.
You can also coat them in a mix of breadcrumps and honey and then fry them. My friend loves eggplant so we ate it a lot in Japan.
For Japanese recipes try googling 'nasu recipe'

You underestimate me, m'dear.

I have a... bushel, more or less, of fancy eggplants, which my household has already eaten 2 meals a day for the last 2 days. So far I've made a nice eggplant stirfry with tamari and tomatillo, babaganoush, friend eggplant sandwiches, and a dip that wasn't exactly babaganoush. It's raining, so I can't grill it. I also have a bushel of nectarines, several quarts of fancy tomatoes, and 21 ears of corn...remaining. Plus misc. veggies and herbs.

I need to be able to cook something for long term storage, since soup is really the food of choice, at the mo.

You see? Our lives are much alike.

The lamp is a wall fixture. The new compact flourescent in that location, while environmentally probably a good idea and requiring less frequent replacement, has a quite hideous spectrum. I'm building a plexiglass box for it, which I'll tart up with something. I'd thought origami paper, originally, but it's too opaque. Now I'm leaning towards glitter.

I have no idea how large the quantities you are talking about are, but it sounds like a lot.
And you've got me beaten. I only have 3 sick

Glitter sounds good by the way *nods appreciative*
And if you get bored, you can do the origami and put the glitter on top of it

Gotta run now, I'm being called. Good luck to your end of the line!

I don't have you beaten. I'm just older. When I was your age I was taking care of strangers, too...I count those in your tally.

Back ^_^
I don't understand what you are saying, but nevermind. It's about time for dinner. Today is going to be cauliflower again. Easy to digest. And broccoli for me.
I've resorted to separate cooking.

Oh! I saw my youngest cousin again yesterday. When I last saw him 2 weeks ago he was still a baby, but yesterday it was really a little guy already! They grow so fast! *is amazed*
He was muttering all sorts of things to me. ^_^
*sigh* I think I've been wrapped around his little finger and I didn't even try to resist... >_<

Well, as the Borg say...resistance is futile.

(even I cannot believe my typing and spelling errors today. It's just gibberish, the first 3 times. I'm talking like a stroke victim.)

The one stroke victim I really knew could speak gibberish in 6 languages You shouldn't ask him to write something down or to walk faster though >_<

*sigh* Yes, resistance is futile, but does that mean I shouldn't resist at all? *is a bit worried by how easy she is to win over*

I have just been scrolling through some of my old posts from years past, and I can't for the life of me find one where I did use the phrase "lol" in it.

Its actually killing me, can't even read half the posts because I'm cringing at them too much!

I'll jus take a moment here to apolagise for my immature past, god I must have annoyied some of you a few years ago -because i just shake my head when I read them!

Anyway... no mud wrestling / mod pranks going on at moment??
