aak! Why oh why did the only girl with a tv in the dorms that I know of have to leave for the entire day?????

Keep me posted, people, I'm dying up here.

I thought LotR had some fights ahead of them with some of the categories, but I'm ticked about McKellan. He should have gotten it. incompetent judges

KEEP POSTING!!!

I tan well too, thus I get really dark...but I peeled and burned in Florida, because I haven't tanned yet.

Ew...Josh Hartnett...gag.

There wasn't much fuss about color when Zhang Zhi Yhi was around (not sure if she won, though).

BTW, I'm a golden brown malay with a tinge of chinese from my granny from my dad's side and possibly spanish from my grandad on the other side.

We'll never become color blind if we don't stop this "black/white" thing. Affirmative action I'm against - for the very reason you stated. There are no easy answers for the whole thing. Now people walk on egg shells trying not to offend anyone.

Whoopie Golberg the one time spoke out against the term "African-American" and said "I've been to Africa - and I am NOT African - I AM American." I thought that was cool. I'm white - not European- American. I was called that once and I thought I was going to lose it. No offense to Europeans - but I hate the labeling.

As an aside I believe this thread wins the oscar for 'fast growing / most looked at in short space of time' thread ever.

At least until next year when TTT gets 14 nominations

THinking ahead, I'm REALLY looking forward to the new score Howard Shore (hey that rhymes!) comes up with!

I think there are a few hints of it in FotR - for example I think there'll be some sort of 'White City' theme. You get a few hints of it when to do with Gondor (most obvious is when he's talking about Gondor to ARagorn in Lothlorien). It's never made into a full theme and isn't on the soundtrack as a 'boromir' song so I reckon it's got a great future ahead of it!

PS just watching Enya do her song now. For those english people here (are there any? It IS 4.10 am on a workday ) I think Enya looks like a young Dot Cotton from Eastenders!

PPS what's with this musical interlude? Presumably this is so all the US channels can go to extended commercials to please their sponsors?

I don't think so - because we haven't gone to a commercial. We had the music shown too.

PS - now we're at commercial after the award was given.

Check out www.oscars.com.
It might even be reliable now they've learnt their lesson
See earlier in the thread about how they said the wrong film won!

It's ok..but of course I'm biased for Enya. It's the song Sully and Mike sang to each other.

AARGGHH NO!
ABM for best adapted screenplay!

Oh well, I suppose it was a tough choice since both that and FotR didn't stick very closely to the books.
Perhaps they took the word 'adapted' in the oscar catagory a bit too literally

That woman though presenting it. SEE THROUGH TOPS ARE NOT SEXY YOU STUPID WOMAN.

There is a lot to be said for leaving something to the imagination. In this case she's revealed her breasts, her lack of style and taste, and a lack of braincells. Way to go girl.

Screenplay adaptation lost! Movies don't want to be upstaged by the book.
