yeah, i think the Brits have the canadian smarties too, that makes sense. unfortunately i will have to b w/u guys in spirit on the raids, i have term papers due that week i really wish i could come!!! ok....now who was it that didn't know lindt chocolate? i think it was rosie? lindt chocolate is a very yummy, creamy, delicious brand of swiss chocolate (and we all know that the swiss are the best at banking and chocolate making )..u really ought to find a Lindt store near you and buy a bar of their milk chocolate...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Hey, that's great!
You'll be able to eat chocolate. Though, Thorntons is very expensive, it is yummy enough to be worth it. Has anyone else ever eaten Milka? Do they agree with me that it is the best choc around??? Can I come on the raid of Cadburys? I couldn't eat any of the chocolate though, I'm off it for Lent. I'd just have to hoard it and come back for it later. I would also be very useful as I could be an extra pair of hands to help 1 LUCKY PERSON transport the booty out of Cadburys. Bidding starts at 50p... (Now that is an offer you can't refuse!)

I've just had the best idea!
Even better than my letter. In compensation to screwing up the names on the easter eggs they should send all the fans who complain life sized easter egg versions of our favorite character in chocolate(solid) how cool would that be! luv Play Girl xxx PS Is it 23rd for the cadbury raid or the smartie raid or both?

I fancied Mr. Smarties, he was sooo colourful. Anyway he gave me lots of Smarties and this morning I woke up with a Smarties hangover v. similar to the ones seen in Black Books on Channel 4, but a lot more acidic!
Does anybody else watch that, it is sooo funny!!!

QUOTE: "i dunno the difference. i didn't know that there woz one, but sumone sed that there woz a difference between canadian and american, so i woz just stating wot type of smarties my raid woz going 2 b on, english american or canadian !!!!"
QUOTE: "sorry strawberry, and i wozn't jst calling u names. don't invent things n e way" Pardon me while I take an anti-nauseant and vent my literary spleen. Folks, a person can write or post in any manner they choose, within contraints of the admins and mods, but what is so BLOODY difficult about posting in proper English? You ARE discussing, at least in other threads, the works of an OXFORD PROFESSOR OF LANGUAGES, for Pete's sake! Can't you show an OUNCE of respect for the man, for the generations of time he spent grading papers in cloistered houses, for the regiments of students he guided on the path to greater understanding of the arts of communications, and for the sensibilities of others who see this retrograde, southron Orcish and cry, "Aieeee! Aieeeee! The language of Mordor is heard in Rivendell! Bespeak it no more!!!!" Seriously. It is not difficult to write "be" when you mean "be", it is not difficult to write "was" when you mean "was", it is not difficult to write "what" when you mean "what", it is not difficult to write "to" when you mean "to", "too" when you mean "too", or "two" when you mean "two"!!!! Why in the heck write "wuz" for "was"? It's the same number of keystrokes, you ain't saving any time! And MAYBE if you wrote "before" instead of "b 4", you might improve your typing skills AND your language skills. The posts I have seen in this goblin/trollish drivel makes one wonder whether the author of the post ever even TOUCHED a book of greater challenge than "Curious George". You are here, you've obviously read the books, how about taking a little bit of effort and write in proper English? A bit of colloquialisms or intential poor grammar from time to time are acceptable, sometimes even disarmingly charming, but a constant barrage of "near-English" in a Tolkien discussion group is like showing up at a black tie dinner in a blue suit with brown shoes. Folks, you have some learning about you, you're not some illiterate street punks, you have read the books of the Master, did his mastery of the language have NO effect on you WHATSOEVER???????? Are you in no way embarassed to speak in broken, stilted, pidgin-English in a group of people discussing the Lord of the Rings? I am sure you are capable of FAR more effective communication. Have some respect for the language, and for the work which the Master poured into the books. We are not discussing some rap hip-hop unintelligible garbage, we are discussing the most important works of literature produced in the Twentieth Century. [Did I balance compliments with critique sufficiently? Didn't want to make this a flame harangue in any way. Post as you wish. Best wishes, all. Soapbox dismounted.]

"...[The Lord of the Rings] is to exemplify most clearly a recurrent theme: the place in 'world politics' of the unforeseen and unforeseeable acts of will, and deeds of virtue of the apparently small, ungreat, fogotten in the places of the Wise and Great (good as well as evil). A moral of the whole (after the primary symbolism of the Ring, as the will to mere power, seeking to make itself objective by physical force and mechanism, and so also inevitably by lies) is the obvious one that without the high and noble the simple and vulgar is utterly mean; and without the simple and ordinary the noble and heroic is meaningless."
