I think that puts us even now. I've got the Lorien cloak, you've got the ears. Thing is, you can borrow my cloak (well, theoreticaly ) but I'd have trouble borrowing your ears!

I'd like to try the ear clip idea, but I've been trying it and it doesn't seem to work right. Any tips? (pun not entirly intended )

i still hold that the hair trick - putting most of your hair behind your ears except for a v. small amount from the underside left in front - will make anyone's ears look pointy.

I guess mine aren't anyone's ears then. If only I knew a good costume store around here.....

TC, I just tried your hair trick, it really works! My hair must be a lot thicker than yours though, it won't stay in my hair for more than five minutes so I have to pull the top layer of hair back into a braid. What's the most elvish way to pull your hair back like that?

wowzers...i was at folklife today (for those of you who don't know, that's Seattle's big folk festival held every year) and I saw a young woman with the most incredibly elvin ears I'd ever seen. I wish i could post a photograph, but i didn't have a camera with me. anyway. she had her hair done in the "elf ear" style, so maybe that helped, but her ears went back horizontally instead of more vertically, if you can imagine what i mean, and they were POINTED! it was SO cool. I really wanted to go up to her and ask what part of middle earth she teleported from...
but i didn't. *sigh*
*sings* "Oh, all I want for Christmas is two elf ears..."

Sounds cool, though!

Cool! There's this girl at school, a few years younger than me, and I just noticed the other day that her ears are elven too! They point backwards not up, and it's so cool! I told my sister and she was like, 'yah...she DOES!!! Whoa!' No fair!

Heh...I'd love to have pointy ears for prom. That would be awesome! I don't care if I have a date or not. They'll just have to put up with it. I also would like to go dressed Shakespearian...we'll have to see about that...

I do Civil War reenactments and I was thinking about going to a prom dressed as (male) soldier, now if only I could get my date to wear a hoop skirt.... nah, it'd never work, but the ears for the prom would be really cool. I did my hair TC's elvish way for our band banquet, it looked really good.

ok, tech week makeup guru mrs single says to take moleskin and make the skeleton with the curve in them and everything, then use lots of liquid latex or coloured liquid latex (stuff that's already skin tone-if yer rich) and keep adding layers until youve got it, you can also add a roll of moleskin to the underside of your natural curve to help it dissappear.
moleskin is like cheap leather, you can buy it in the section of a drugstore where the dr. sholes and footpads are. i think it's really meant for corns and stuff.
ive been trying to modify a pair of those headphone that go back behind your head so that it will pinch my ears near the top. hopefully im not done growing yet and they'll someday shape themselves like that.

It is indeed strange. (yes, I am an American.) But I've never tried it. . .

I don't think you're missing out on much. Blokes are all the same, the world over.
