I don't remember there being many of them, but...could it be the statue of the white hand that fell when Isengard was taken?

Nope.

It is not Sam and Frodo either.

While it may not appear so at the moment in a way both of y'all are skirting near the answer.

Hey Keith! Looong time no see, good to see you riddling away again.

As for the riddle, could it be the Teleri in Alqualondë that can see the light reflected on the sea? Singlemindedness, yes I know, I blame it on my Sea-Elf inheritage.

Also, on the "white" riddle....it is NOT the moon. Please guess again.

Bingo!! Well done Earniel! the "short" of course refers to the halflings who temporarily guarded the gates of Isengard. They later "dangled" at Gandalf's tail where they saw the fall of Saruman.

As for your other guess it is way off the mark. Firstly, you evidently missed the clues given whereby it was declared that the light is of Middle Earth origin. Secondly, you are not utilizing that expertise for which you are now famous in the Riddling Thread....

Here are the remaining unsolved riddles for this page:

1)
When Middle Earth is under night,
there is a place where it is bright,
and folk can see to their delight
since they possess the liquid light.

and

2)
Pure and white.
Without stain or blight.
Soaring with pride
at a great height.

along with a new riddle I have composed for y'all...

3)
With snow on my head
And The Guard at my shoulder
I watch over the dead
And birth something far older.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! Correctomundo and well done! It is close enough for me. It wasnt the actual drink which emmitted light, (as Earniel could tell you), it was some liquid Treebeard had in 2 other bowls one of which gave off a green light and the other gave off a golden light and they blended together after he held his hands over them.
Congratulations LCoU! You are leading in the correct answer category.
Hmm, theres an idea....we could give awards like the Academy....instead of an "oscar" how 'bout "...and the gollum goes to....?"

nope, moving further away again. as a clue, the answer is somewhat related to towers, but not an actual tower itself.

note to any newcomers: we are still seeking answers for riddles #2 and #3.
