Since we started to get region-specific...

What do you think Cuba would be like today if it was Castro and not Guevara who was shot? I'm assuming from the fact that he's one of your heroes that he wouldn't have been a fascist dictator.

but, i don't know whether the cubans would have taken to him, him being argntinian, although I don't agree with borders and boundaries very much, as many may have noticed ...

No borders at all? Should North, South and Central America be one giant super-country?

How would we decide which teams could be in the Rugby World Cup?

But on a more serious note, due to human nature I think we'd make our own devisions anyway.

If Guevara was Argentinian, why did he help Castro? Why did the Bolivian army shoot him? When did all this happen?

I'm afraid I know pretty much squat about this period of history.

guevara believed, quite rightly IMHO, that the only way to end the corruption of the Latin american nations was to have socialist revolution (not communist!), and to end the US' "interference" (not my word, JD) in the economic policies of the area.
the whole of the isthmus and s america would work co-operatively together then, and argentinian in cuba, for instance, would not matter.
maybe have regional teams for sports etc? europe area vs. n americans perhaps?

As long as I live - the US isn't going anywhere - it will not be made a subset of another country - it will remain free - as the states will remain as they are. Other countries such as canada and mexico may join america if they wish though.

I don't like it. It was mainly to discuss US and Canadian relations. Why not just call it the damn Western Hemisphere anyway - since that's really what it covers now.

They captured some ships, but grew bored and went home...no, actually they were told, "Stop it" by the US, and Canada did its best to show them the door. It was in large effect to thwart the British, whom the Irish at the time had some bad feelings for.

They eventually went back to Ireland to conduct their little war, leaving Canada alone. They recruited a lot of civil war veterans.

Then there's the declassified Invasion plans (1936) that the US drew up for "fun". We R such a bunch of rascals! I wonder if Canada has ever done thought to draw up US invasion plans?

There, though it's the past, it is a Canada-US relation-type-topic....
