I find it odd that I am arguing that someone was evil. I just remembered my own belief in that evil doesnt exist and have switched to the side of Denethor. COme on. He aint that bad.

In the end he didn't attempt to resist Mordor. He let everything go and went to kill himself. That's not very good of him.

That's the point thogh, indirectly. Saruman tried to directly cause the fall of Rohan.

Saruman is DISGUSTING, so not a favorite of mine. I like Denethor in the book, and he is not at all evil. It has to be Wikkie of Angmar then

The Witch-King was by far the best but, I really liked Old Man Willow. He was pretty cool himself. The way he 'laughed' at Frodo when he kicked him and how he told Merry he would squeeze him in two if they didn't put out the fire. Yeah, Old Man Willow is one of my favs.

Strider The witch king it is!!!

I would have to agree with Nurvingiel, The leader of the ringwraiths was just the terror of the LOTR books for a great deal of it.

The chase of frodo from the shire to rivendel, when the witch king and his other nazgul, would simply fly over head at minas tirith or when he attacked Faramir, Theoden and Eowyn. Or even when he faced Gandalf at the gate.

Those were all scary times.

Denethor, if you consider him really evil. The thing about Tolkien is, all of his 'bad guys' were good at one time or another (with the possible exception of some orc and/or Uruk characters). So, speaking strictly of 'bad' creatures who have always been bad... I have no favourite. If otherwise, Denethor.

How can I take this losing hand and somehow win?

I've been chasing grace; Grace ain't so easily found
One bad hand can devil a man, chase him and carry him down.
I've got to get out of here, just give me One Good Year!
