The game that I really wanted to see was Germany vs Holland. I only could watch about 20 minutes of it, then the phone rang and I had to leave. I missed both goals.
The thing about that match was the intensity and quality level of the players. Tomorrow there will be a game played that the intensity level will be higher than that. Unfortunately, it is not from the Euro 2004, but from the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores Boca Juniors vs River Plate, and I will be in the bar, watching the game and yelling: Dale, dale, dale Boca.

“What does the term american refers to” asked the boy, and the wise man answered: “Lets look at the dictionary then.” As an adjective American is: 1. Of or relating to the United States of America or its people, language, or culture. 2. Of or relating to North or South America, the West Indies, or the Western Hemisphere. As a noun American is: A native or inhabitant of America. A citizen of the United States. Then the boy asked, “What is America then?”, and the wise man looked at the dictionary again: 1. The United States. 2. also the A·mer·i·cas. The landmasses and islands of North America, Central America, and South America. Confused, the boy asked, “Does the term american refers solely to a us citizen or to any person in North, Central or South America?” The wise man replied: “What do you think?”, and the boy answered: “It is clear to me that while the term american is used to refers to us citizens, one can also use it to refer to any person who is from that continent too,” the boy thought for a while and asked the wise man, “Am I right?”, and he replied: “But of course.” The boy wondered, why is it that some people refuse to acknowledge the fact that the term american refers not only to US citizens but to anyone of the American continent?, but then sadly, the boy understood, that it is the calamity of ignorance. |

Anyway, I think that SPain was disapointing once again. Even though we played better than Greece. Now It is Portugal or us. I hope that referees won't be as partial as that Norwegian

Seriously, it is a pity, I would have liked to see an Iberian final, now that would have been something! Kind of a hockey classic. Unfortunately; so far, none of our teams seam to be at their best. Still, perhaps the next game will better, or so I hope.

Yeah, I would also have liked to see Spain and Portugal classifying, and perhaps an Iberian final BTW, I think that Rui Costa is far better than decco. Hope he doesn't play against us

This is shaping up to be a great tournament, I just hope that the referees don't ruin it. Another insane sending-off last night trashed what was going to be a great game.
Funny how England played rubbish last night, but won 3-0. We've already got two cracking games for the final round of groups (Spain v Portugal and England v Croatia). Looking forward to Italy v Sweden tonight. Probably a draw is most likely, and if Denmakr manage to beat Bulgaria it'll set that group up nicely for a photo finish. |

Yesterday, I saw the best game of football ever. The Euro 2004 games seems lame by comparison.
The semifinals of the Copa Libertadores between Boca Juniors and River Plate. Wow. The pace of the game is ultra fast. It went to the wire to a penal definition. River missed the last one and Boca nailed it. I still have a sore throat from all the yelling and beers that we had.

Jonathan - debating on whether I should congratulate Sweden on it's tie. I'm glad you didn't lose though and you are still first - or at least tied with Denmark in the standings for your group. Anyway - congrats.

I was going to "wear" a swedish avatar in support of Sweden - but then I remembered that Jonathan didn't wear the Jersey Devils avatar when we were in the Stanley Cup Finals.

But did you see how well the Italians played? They really showed off and played a lot better than they did against Denmark. Totti's replacement, Cassano, put in a great performance. Sweden was under pressure during the whole first half and Italy could have scored more than just one goal. However in the second half, Italy started playing more defensive. The Italian coach withdrew his forwards for more defensive players. If he hadn't done that, I'm sure Italy would have won. Ibrahimovich's equalizer was out of this world. Quote:

I missed this match I really wanted to see, it and besides everybody is speaking now how well Italia played.
I think that Sweden is the best positioned for qualifying in this group.

Man, the Latvians played better than i thought they would. They have a really good defensive system, and even forced Kahn to make some good saves.
I want Holland to beat the Czechs though, and they are up 1 - 0 right now, scoring before 5 minutes had passed
