Billionaire financier Sir James Goldsmith - I just read an article in Vanity Fair about his son, Zac Goldsmith, and his fabulous life as a young, rich, happily married club & restaurant owner. My dream life... or at least one of 'em!

Hehe, I was hoping you guys would get confused. I put Of SI to stand for Of Simon Preston I, or David Preston II, which means that whatever the Preston with SI in his parentheses, Simon Preston I was his father...etc.
These Prestons were mainly political. They owned a lot of land, had power over people in their dominion probably. The First Preston listed is in the 1300's somewhere, and the last somewhere in the 1600's pr 1700's. This new listing is far less detailed than the one I'd made about a month ago. Conveniently for us all, I wasnt able to post it because of someone internet hungry in the library...grrr...

Here are a few more:
Sir Roger Moore (JB actor)
Sir George Dyson (composer)
Sir Hamilton Harty (conductor)
Sir Alexander Mackenzie (composer)

Sir Neville Cardus (cricket and music journalist)
Sir Robert Naunton (politician in Elizabeth's court?)
Sir Edward Stafford (politician in Elizabeth's court?)
Sir Robert Bruce (scot who helped Wallace)
Sir Edward Vaughn Williams (RVW's dad)

I take it you're counting the dames as well? If so than: Dame Daphne Sheldrick, she recently was knighted for her efforts in wildlife preservation. (Among others, she started and runs the elephant orphanage where my little foster elephant lives.)

I also noticed you left a (?) behind Sir David Attenborough. You can add 'documentary maker' instead.
