I love The Giver! That book is wonderful.

I'm reading two books right now - The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, which is terrific, and I just started The Forever War, by Joe Haldeman (author's preferred edition) which is amazing.

I love going into second-hand book stores and buying something I've never read, or fleshing out my Babylon 5 book collection. Good times.

Montogomery - Anne of Green Gables.
Pratchett - Interesting Times.

I'm proud to say I've read them both today... Started AND finished.

Interesting Times! Just re-read that last week, have been thinking of trying to draw the quantum weather butterfly ever since...

Currently re-reading 'Jingo!' by same author.

Agreed.

Besides curiculum I've just started The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen Donaldson; also halfway through Umberto Eco's The Mystic Flame of Queen Loana (or similar?) and still making progress on Jens Bjørneboe's A History of Bestiality-triology. Had to shelf Muramaki and Tolstoy for the time being...

I just finished "The Lord of the Flies", has anyone else read it? I thought it was pretty good, it little downright scary at times. What did you guys think of it?

Quite scary, but makes you think about group dynamics and the willingness of people to follow the leader, doesn't it?

Forgot to mention, I am currently reading The End, the last in the Series of Unfortunate Events books. I'm going to be so mad if things aren't resolved for the poor orphans, but I probably shouldn't hope too much.

I just finished it............ I'm going to lend it to a friend to read over the weekend. I doubt I will ever re-read the series.

Recently: St. Augustine's Confessions, and St. Athanasius On the Incarnation. Both good, the former extremely so. Also, re-read Dorian Gray for a seminar.

I'm currently in the third book of Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series. Mitch is basically a terrorist killer in these modern days. Pretty interesting plots. Political thriller.

Separation of Power is a bit slow moving at the moment, but I know it'll speed up soon.

Just finished the Vampire Lestat. I think I'm gonna lay off the Rice for a while, though the ending did leave me wanting to read more. I'm currently reading Richard Ellman's biography of Oscar Wilde.

Yep. Brilliant. At least the part I managed to read before I lost it...

Good idea, Rice can be somewhat tiring in large doses.

and
"Hypocrite in a Pouffy White Dress" by Susie Gilma (i think she's a columnist for the NY Times... very funny!)
