Why did Twista ask a question after Falagar asked his?

To answer Falagar's question, Aragorn's name in Gondor was Thorongil...

In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world.'

'Then Tuor arrayed himself in the hauberk, and set the helm upon his head, and he girt himself with the sword; black were sheath and belt with clasps of silver. Thus armed he went forth from Turgon's hall, and stood upon the high terraces of Taras in the red light of the sun. None were there to see him, as he gazed westward, gleaming in silver and gold, and he knew not that in that hour he appeared as one of the Mighty of the West, and fit to be father of the kings of the Kings of Men beyond the Sea, as it was indeed his doom to be; but in the taking of those arms a change came upon Tuor son of Huor, and his heart grew great within him. And as he stepped down from the doors the swans did him reverence, and plucking each a great feather from their wings they proffered them to him, laying their long necks upon the stone before his feet; and he took the seven feathers and set them in the crest of his helm, and straightway the swans arose and flew north in the sunset, and Tuor saw them no more.' -Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin

Falagar wasn't really asking... just saying what he would ask (and you gave it away! )... he gave his turn to Twista.

Separate game... but there's a quote up now if you think you can finish it. Besides, we have a question on the board now... it's drawn a couple of answer attempts, but no word back yet from the one who asked (brownjenkins).

I know, I just find that there is no point to a game where you actually get the whole thing correct and then someone takes your turn

I will stick to the trivia from now on

It's not so bad... there are several from Australia and New Zealand who like to play it (with the morning players in Europe) - at about the time we're asleep here in the US - so they like to keep the thread moving. Besides, it's almost more fun to solve parts than to win... because it can be a pain to post (some are suspected of solving all but a simple word or an easy speaker to avoid posting the next quote! )

Two men are on a Island, they both see a "monster", one sees a bright light, and the other sees a dark cloud

My name bares no reference to the music artist.

sorry... was afk for a bit

not tulkas and not oxen either... though you're on the right track

Araw was a character, better known to tolkien fans by another (high-elven) name, which is...

Were Araw Aurochs? (Oxen put me in mind of this.) As in Boromir's horn?

yep... cassi's got it

reference was in regards to the wild oxes of araw who were hunted in rhûn by the steward vorondil... boromir's horn was made from one of their tusks... they were noted in the appendix to be descended from the kine of araw... araw being another name for oromë

That was quick! Just needed a little nudge... Yes, that's correct.

Once I caved in and looked for the answer, it wasn't too difficult to find. It's remembering stuff like that that's really difficult.

Alright, a question for Mooters...

How many days in a Shire month?

And if that's too easy, add the bonus question: What were the extra days added to which season?
