I've never thought of theology as a science. Any varying opinions out there? If so, why?

I remember my first dissection. It was in 7th grade and my teacher's name was Mrs. Jenkins. She was a tiny old lady with a loud voice. When we cut up our frogs my lab partner Georgette offered me a pair of gloves.....i accepted though I didn't think it was neccessary. Frogs and worms are okay but what about cadavers? Yikes...I don't think I could do that. I just wasn't made for any area of the medical field.

It's pretty gross. I had to do it for anatomy, and sometimes would forget my gloves. You'd be having a pint and some stovies at lunchtime and realise you had a chunk of cadaver stuck under your fingernail.

I'm sorry that you feel that way about me, and very sorry that I inadvertently caused it.

I merely intended to make a little joke; of course, theology isn't by any means a science. On the one hand, it's just a bunch of superstitious morons playing make believe; and on the other, it is the study of the supernatural, while science is the study of the natural.

I'm very sorry; obviously my joke was in v. bad taste, and I do hope you can forgive me, Liz.

Yeah, dissection is certainly interesting; no doubt about that. I remember when I dissected a sheep's brain; fun!

Though I doubt it would have been if I'd found a chunk in my fingernails at mealtime...

When you put smileys together they fight, and the dominate one moves on, while the non-dominate one turns into a frowny or a confusey.

I am trying to study geology and physics. Its not easy, since I am not really in a great "learning environment", but I do what I can. I have always loved science, espically when someone comes up with something really weird and calls it theory (I dont know how to spell theory for Christs sake! Need to go to college asap)

Across the river and through the woods isn't a good learning environment to study geology?

Theories are great. With enough research anything can be proven as a viable theory.

It is if I were really there, but the in the desert with guns is not (unless I wanted to study the desert, but I think that I have that figured out pretty well, it sucks and its hot

Has anyone followed the series "Walking with Seamonsters" on BBC? It's a great show, and IMO a great way to bring paleontology out of a museum and a little closer to the public.

It sounds good. By the same people who made "Walking With Dinosaurs" I suppose. I can't wait till they show it here. I also love any documentaries presented by David Attenborough or Robert Winston.

Anyway, I study geology because I found a geology book here in Iraq and it turned out to be pretty intersting.

Physics is quite challengeing, but I think that is part of the appeal, at least for me.

Last thing I graduated was high school, about four years ago (class of 1999), since then I have been in the Army. I am 22.

I study this stuff because I felt a gradual dumbing down after about two years in without really learning anything. Gotta keep the ol' brain active to keep it sharp, I guess.
