If you're getting drunk on soda, you're a lot younger than I thought!! My family is predominantly of French heritage, I got to have wine occasionally when I was 13. Booyah!

Just 13? I was able to have a glass of wine for Sunday dinner when I was 7. Not a lot - just half a glass. I guess that's why it never matter to me to drink.

And during parties - we could get one cup of beer from the tap, although we did sometimes sneak more - but never enough where we got drunk or even buzzed.

You were stripping for Falagar yesterday - so I don't know what the problem is now. I guess you haven't had enough to drink yet.

We have very strickt alchohol-rules here. All of which are neglected, of course

Most of my friends have been drinking a couple of times, and I've been offered but I rejected it. Seeing everybody else drunk was much more fun

My non-US cousins got to have wine earlier, but yeah, like you and me, just 1/2 a wine glass or less. My mom was trying to Americanize us, she didn't know any other American Moms that gave their kids wine, so she thought it was a bad idea. Twas Grandmama who slipped us a taste when she came to visit. She'd say, 'Shh, ne dites pas votre mère.'

I always thought Norway would be like Amsterdam and be a little freer on the vices.

I agree - seeing others drunk is so much better. You can still have a good time without drinking. They act like such fools. You need a video camera when people drink so you can prove to them all the stuff they do when they're drunk.

When I was in high school, I knew the bouncers at the back door of the clubs and I'd get my friends and I in. But I never drank, I just went to dance. We got stopped by the cops once and he made me walk the line and touch my nose and the works. When it was all over he told me he saw us all come out of the club and wanted to know how I was able to pass the test. I said, easy, I wasn't drinking... I'm the designated driver. He nearly crapped, 'cuz we were all dressed like punks and he thought he had us. hahahahaha!

It just depends on the area I think. In Indiana alcohol was "taboo" but then everyone drank anyway. YOu can't even go into a liquor store unless your 21 or over. In NJ I used to sit at bars at bowling alleys, go into liquor stores with my father and all that. In Seymour - everyone treated it like it was the worst thing that could be done and therefore must be done as much as possible.

I think the taboo of drinking or doing things causes people to want to do it more. Couldn't believe the teenage alcohol problem they had in Seymour - especially with all the laws and everything. Restaurants can't even have open bars in the dining areas unless it's 21 and over only. They seem to feel that it'll corrupt anyone yonger if they see a bottle of open wine. Which I always found strange - because Indiana allows alcohol to be sold in grocery stores (which is against the law in NJ). It was always a pain though - in Indiana if you went to a checkout counter and the sales clerk was underage - they'd have to call over a manager in order to scan the bottle of wine or beer and bag it.

I understand some French - so I don't need this translated - not that it's too difficult to figure out.

You know, I haven't really seen much of the other admins around.... I guess that'll be why SGH is so popular at the moment.
