Return of a Ring

[Grey_Wolf]

Mordor, 4 am, 25 of september, 4082.

Gothalag grumbling, after being told off by his superior, flew off in search of worthier prey.

When he reached the Fields of Pelennor and Minas Tirith he thought:
"Wow, here's a really target-rich environmnent!"

[Acalewia]

"It is good to see you again, Albus." She turns to the King and the Steward. "Good day, my lords. Have you any news on the threat?"

Just then, a soldier burst through the doors of the Great Hall. He shouted, "My Lord! There is a great fiery beast circling the outer walls breathing fire upon the guards and slashing at them with a fiery whip! What shall we do?"

[Grey_Wolf]

Mordor, 4.30 am, 25 of september, 4082.

Gothalag lashed the terrified guards with his fiery wip and they stampeded towards the still open Gate.

"Ha-ha. You puny humans." He laughed cruelly."I am the mighty Gothalag against whom you don't have a prayer of a chance. Ha-ha!"

[Acalewia]

"Its a Balrog!" Acalewia shouted. "I thought they only resided in Moria and Gandalf distroyed the only one that was left!" She turned from the window.
"Send for Gandalf! He'll know what to do bout the creature"

Just as she finished saying this, an Eagle appeared on the horizon. It was bearing a rider whose white hair was streaming in the wind. It was Gandalf! The Eagle perched on the seventh level and Gandalf jumped down, staff and Glamdring in hand. With a mighty swing and a loud shout, Gandalf struck the Balrog down and got rid of it.

[Acalewia]

"Well you seem to always know when you are needed, my friend" Acalewia said when Gandalf joined them.
"I heard a Balrog had laid seige to the White City. I would not sit around and wait for a summons and let a fell creature destory Gondor. And I know the Dunedain present would not either" As he said this, he glanced at Albus and his kin.

[Grey_Wolf]

Gothalag's spirit rose from his dead carcasse and returned to wherever spirits of Balrogs go between appearances.

[Acalewia]

"Now, how many more have you summoned to The White City, Elessar?" Acalewia asked when the excitment died off.

Well, Rohan is holding it's people at the fortress of Helm's Deep, I have men holding the River at Osgilliath, and of course a group of soldiers in Minas Ithil. As for the White City, we have more than enough defences here. The Dwarves are holding the mountains and caves.

Tarrin heard a tremendous roaring sound coming from the east and jumped up suddenly and reayd to defend if needed. The deafening sound had caused Anwar to jump and shy nervously. Tarrin, still ready for something eased over an calmed her horse. After waiting a while for something to show up an shadow passed over the sun and Tarrin looked up to see one of the giant eagles. It passed out of view behind the trees and shortly after the roaring sound stopped. Tarrin stood puzzled.
"What just happened?" she thought quietly before untying and resaddleing Anwar.
"I'd say our answer to what's going on is that way, wouldn't you say boy?" she said pointing to the east. Anwar nuzzled her gently with his nose in an affirmitive answer and Tarrin mounted and the two headed off in the direction of the noise.

[Acalewia]

A soldier came into the Throne Room.
"My King, a rider approaches the City." Elessar looked out. The rider's black hair streamed behind her.
"Let her in and accompany her in here,"
"Yes, my lord" Drake, Albus, and Acalewia watched the rider as she reached the Gates.
"Who do you think it is?"
"We'll find out"

when Tarrin and Anwar reached the end of the forest, Tarrin noticed a city in the distance. Actually it wasn't in the distance, it was probably only a 10 minute gallop from where they were, Tarrin thought. But due to the vast field that surrounded it, it look a bit far off. Although she really did not feel comfortable going to a place where a lot of people resided, Tarrin figured it was their only chance of finding out what was going on so she urged Anwar into a steady gallop. When she reached the gates she prepared to call up and ask admittence but they opened before she could. Slightly mystified she and Anwar went in before Tarirn dismounted and looked around, trying to figure out what course to take next.

Gothalag floated away and finally arrived at The Soul Collection And Reallocation Centre.

He entered and a saw a que which he joined and when it finally was his turn the half-elf/half-goblin adressed him.

"State your business, former occupation and wishes as to new location of thy soul."

Gothalag did so and said, slightly miffed."Well, I'd like to go back as a Balrog and kick that wizard Gandalf's rear quarter."

"Unable to comply to your wish, sorry." said the bureacrat looking through a scroll."But we have several orc- and trollbodies who needs filling, and some Men, Elves and Dwarves, too, if they're to your liking? And then there's a Giant Spider-hulk which has been hanging around for quite some time. Would that do?"

"Yes, yes, I'll take the Spider." Gothalag said, enthusiastically.

"Well, good then." said the Bureaucrat."Just go into the Allocation Chamber where the inhabitation will occur and good luck with your New Body."

"Thanks a bunch." Gothalag replied, smiling.

[klatukatt]

Andunie cracked her knuckles in her underground palace.

"Well, it seems the 'good' side is taking their sweet time preparing an offensive. And I've got some stray balrogs wasting their energy. Damn, and I was enjoying my nap."

She clapped her hands and four servants came scurrying up. "Yes, Madam?"

Andunie smiled at their stiffness. "Call our chamber meeting."

"Yes Madam."

Twenty minutes later, Andunie was addressing her Council of Warior Women. "The time is come to expand our enterprise. Our best chance is to expand eastward out of Mordor to create an easy path for our allies to the south. This means Osgiliath and Minas Tirith. My father failed here, which is why I want to strike here first. There are many concentrated areas of people, so it will take skill to overcome the two major cities of Gondor, but after that we should have an easier time. We already have spies in many large villages of the empire, but now they must decide who their enemies are. First, our diplomats have given us a list of villages still loyal to their king. Yaro is in charge of Special Forces. Her first job will be to burn these villages to the ground. News will spread of our coming. Once the people are in great fear, we will take Osgiliath. From there, we can call on the Harad to occupy the city while our forces rape, pillage, and burn the surrounding countryside. Any questions?”

“How exactly do you girls plan to rape the countryside?”

Andunie turned around quickly. “Mother.”

Acalewia went down to meet the rider. She was not an elf, yet her hair was too dark to be from Rohan.
"I am Acalewia, Daughter of Elmar." She said. "King Elessar bids you to meet with him."

Tarrin was quite surprised when a few minutes after she was let into the city and elf, or at least what looked to Tarrin as an elf based on what she had heard of the firstborn, aprroached her and introduced herself and told her that someone named "Elessar" wanted to speak with her. As Tarrin followed the stranger she replied with
"My name is Tarrin and this is my horse Anwar. Who is King Elessar and why does he want to speak with me?"

Gothalag, in his new Spider disguise, had decided to be a bit more cautious. He took his time getting back to where action was.

Besides, being this big, heavy and not able to fly would also give him the time to figure out a better game plan.

[Acalewia]

Acalewia turned to Tarrin.
"Elessar is the king of Gondor and Arnor. He wishes to speak to you in order to know your business and where you come from." As they entered the Great Hall, Elessar walked toward them.
"Elessar, this is Tarrin, Daughter of the Forest." She then stepped aside and stood next to Albus.
