But it said that in the day he was white and shining silver and at night he was gray like a shadow, and thus passed unseen, or something Tolkien-ish like that.

Oh, I am in Middle-Earth. When I posted that, I was being driven (shudders before saying the awful word) sane by my little brothers sleep-over with one of his friends from second grade. So I was almost in my right mind. (shudders again) I have my own personal talan in my own personal mallorn, so I'm quite happy.
