It was the last battle at the bridge of Osgiliath, I thought. Go for it Aromen.

When they're leaving Lothorien and there in the same boat or is it in the battle before the Black Gates and Gimli says something about dieing beside an elf and Leoglas says something about how he (gimli) could look at it that way or he could look at as dieing beside a friend.

Where do Legolas and Gimli affirm their friendship?
The first time they actually say anything about it is in front of the Black Gates,
Gimli: "who thought that I'd die side by side with an Elf"
Legolas: "how about side by side with a friend"
Gimli: "aye, I can do that."

Grey ship, grey ship, do you hear them calling,
The voices of my people that have gone before me?
I will leave, I will leave the woods that bore me;
For our days are ending and our years failing.
I will pass the wide waters lonely sailing.
Long are the waves on the Last Shore falling,
Sweet are the voices in the lost Isle calling,
In Eresëa, in Elvenhome that no man can discover,
Where the leaves fall not: land of my people forever!”
