It depends what grades measure. Standardized tests are fairly useless. Grades that measure progress or some kind of relative standing can be useful (for instance my essay marks reflect up to a given standard, but are subjective).
People are good at different things, and to some degrees grades don't matter, what matters is that you learn. It isn't what you learn-it's that you learn.

Well... I was not allowed to look at her report card, (steph's I mean) and I was 'advised' not to ask her about it. I got A's in English and Social studies, and B+'s in Math and Spanish and Science.
I was really happy with my spanish grade! My sis is failing PE, how d oyou fail PE? All you have to do is show up and you get a good grade!

i got a b in history, a- in spanish, and an a in math, english, and science
